I was thinking of sending a audition tape for a voice role and i was wondering if that would be a good idea.

Before you do that, why don't you look for ads looking for voices? Check craigslist.com, in your area, for ads relating to that.

If you're talking for The Movie... I wouldn't bother. Not to rain on your parade, they're not going to grab people with no experience. But becoming a VA is a dream of mine too, so start small and work your way up! Good luck!

nearly all voice actors start in radio, thats a good place to get going. DJ jobs provide and open door to commercials and announcements. acting classes don't hurt either.

just remember, wanting to be a VA is akin to wanting to be in the NFL. a lot of people would love to do it, so you've got to work harder than anyone else to get it.

You never know, stranger things have happened but unless they are doing an open audition I don’t know if a major motion picture is going to be taking unsolicited tapes.

I don’t know if there is any where like it in your area but in San Francisco there is a VA management studio, you might want to look to see if you have that sort of thing around.

I have a radio station kind of experience but gave that up for some other job.
