Must be trying to recoup the costs of the Vick trial fees.

In actuality, I find it really amusing that both articles about Atlanta are in the Chicago Tribune.

Even though I don't like pants that hang below the ass, unless it's indecent exposure, this is fucking stupid.

I'm not even going to read those articles. Just based on the thread title alone...

    It's about freaking time.

Well... I don't think fining those who can't afford a belt is going to solve the problem. Besides, those kinds of pants are a benefit to the police. When they try to run, they get caught up in their own pants.

I can't believe the fad is still going. I remember when it was all the rage among skateboarders in the late 80s. Of course, the boarders were bright enough to use belts.

It's been written up here also. Currently, we have a "task force" assessing the need for this law.

But the trial was federal, and in VA--didn't cost us a dime :D
They're talking about targeting any exposed underwear--bra straps, whale tails, etc. And I'm with you on how stupid it is, except I'd take it a step further and suggest it's facist.

The only good thing about this is that the Councilman who proposed the ordinance is black, which keeps me from having to listen to "OMG outrage" over racism.

What's the big deal if you can see someone's boxer's waistband or a bra-strap?

This law is silly. Bunch of uptight pillocks.

On one hand, they look like idiots.

On the other hand, it's their right to look like idiots.

This proposed law is unconstitutional and should not pass.

I also agree with the sentiment that it's hard to run from the cops with your pants around your ankles.

I was all for this till they brought up the thongs.

Dudes with pants hanging below their asses, having to hold up their pants with one hand = bad.

Chick in lowcut jeans showing off their panties = good

for real. hell, I used to sag back in the kris kross days. never did the backwards thing though. there was an article I read talking about this being an extension of "prison fashion". please. no one wants to expose their ass to what happens in a prison while walking around town.

and there's a difference to a hint of sagging, and to the top of your jeans being entirely below the bottom of your ass. I walked out of the library the other day and there was some dude doing landscaping with the top of his shorts around his thighs. I was like damn, dude. there's kids around and now I'm looking at your ass. the thing is that so many guys doing this are wearing another pair of shorts or boxers underneath. imagine if everyone sagging was wearing tighty whiteys. this would have been nixed YEARS ago.
