With that said, I've been pricing Frenzy and Rumble two packs, since we're still as unsure if we're going to get them, as I'm sure Japan is about getting Windcharger lol. I've found a set for $76.98 shipped. Now, most of the time, better judgement would override my propensity to even think of going for something like that for what boils down to being two scouts. I'm still kind of on the fence about it, considering, I was patient and scored a Warpath at retail instead of the insane markups, plus, got Windcharger on HTS instead of scalper prices when he was scarce. I guess what I'm getting at is...to pull the trigger or not to pull the trigger?

Don't. They're mediocre at best, get the Perfect Effect stuff.

I have them. They are OK. I got them for $50 when they first came out....and still feel I paid too much.

If you HAVE to have them, then that is as good of a price you are going to get.

Just wait. If you do miss them there is always the PE versions.

Personally I think they will see American retail, but then again I still think Wingblad Prime and Blackout are still coming our way lol

I love them. And I have the other ones too, but I prefer the tanks.

The official ones are far superior to the PE junk. Go fer it.

I imagine the mold will be released at some point in the US. The problem is that it could be a long wait.

IMO, the Takara ones are kinda ugly in bot mode..

Well I'm a very small minority but I absolutely love my Thuggers that I got here. Yeah they are tiny, but I like that. Yeah I have to paint them myself but they are just great little figures. If you want to see them in action I have a link in my sig to a gallery of shots I took.

Had I not gone with the Thuggers for my Frenzy/Rumble I would have likely been tempted to pick up the PE guys.

I think Hasbro will get both Rumble and Frenzy out, within the next couple years. If nothing else, a two or three-pack (with Windcharger re-offered) would be very possible as an exclusive. Between Walmart, TRU, and Target, one of them would definitely go for it.

The G1 versions are still the best versions.

Completely agree. The PE ones are expensive but they're worth every penny. The Tank ones look great in the head and upper torso but the rest of it just look flat out terrible IMO.

If I am not mistaken, there hasnt been a classics mold that was released by Takara and not Hasbro. So save your money for the $8 releases.

Completely agree. Look at the whole Red Alert debacle.
I also agree that the Perfect Effect's look better.

@Ryoku, those lil Thuggers are very friggin' impressive for their size, but damn are they tiny lol! I'd so lose 'em...and nevermind my painting skills are not that up to par for something that small.

I'm not all that keen on the PE versions, tbh. They just don't scream the toon version of Rumble & Frenzy to me, which, I've always dug those versions of the characters...especially Rumble. That lil blue bastard was mini stick of dynamite. Punk rock as hell too.

While I'm sure that eventually, like Red Alert, they will be released state-side..with how shoddy distribution has been getting the past few years, especially in the south where I live, I'm wondering if I'd ever see them in the wild. I know I could buy em online at any of the usual toy stores when they do, but I've a feeling it'll be like Warpath all over again where they jack up the prices and everyone else scarfs em up in no time lol. I honestly got lucky with Warpath. Grabbed him up the only time I ever saw him in-store..and I tend to have a 50 mile radius that I check out. Can't imagine trying to find two like that. With all said, I know I'm leaning toward pulling the trigger more now...and that, as soon as I do, the next day...there will be a news update about the Hasbro versions being an exclusive lmfao.

    I passed.
No way am I paying that for two scouts.
I believe Hasbro will release these at some point. Even if they for some reason don't, I still won't regret passing on them at that price.

I got the United for 50ish. I like them and recommend them. Not to keen on the 3rd party stuff so I can't comment. I figure get 2 in one rather than maybe only being able to find one or possibly none. Plus, I've seen scalper collectors selling for $100. Bastards.

I don't really prefer either one, but rather the original G1 toys with the Crazy Devy 3rd party add-on set (custom head, arm pounders, crotch plate). Looks much cooler, if very pricy. XD
