The origional rare b&w Astrotrain had NASA stickers on him. When the Japanese reissue came out, they were changed to ASTR stickers. Today I was paroosing Hasbro's website and I noticed that the out-of-box pictures show an Astrotrain with the NASA stickers. Does the Hasbro reissue actually come with those, or was Hasbro just using an old rare Astrotrain as a stand-in?

So far, there havn't been many differences in label sheets between the Japanese releases and the US ones. The sheets are usually identical, especially since Hasbro changed to the book style packaging to match Takara's domensions so they wouldn't need to do sizing and layout work and could use the same tray molds to save cash.

I'd say the US version will have the ASTR stickers. Not sure if they were changed for rights issues (NASA liscensing surely exists and has obligations), or if ASTR is maybe Japan's space agency. I know Japan has a copy of the shuttle that they use.

Hold it! Back up! Beep beep beep!

I think this thread's gotten a bit tangled. I wasn't asking if the Japanese B&W reissue as the ASTR stickers. I have that one and I know it does. I'm asking if the Hasbro B&W reissue has them. I know that normaly Hasbro just reuses the sticker sheets from the Japaneese reissues, but I thought maybe this time they changed them. The example on Hasbro Toy Shop has the NASA stickers, after all.

So, is there anyone who bought the Hasbro reissue that can confirm or refute this?

Just like the Hasbro reissues of Prime, Magnus and seekers depict them as having long smokestacks and regular, non-viagra'ed missiles.

You answere your own question - Hasbro reuses the sticker sheets from Jap reissues.

I just checked my e-Hobby Astrotrain, no NASA stickers on him either. But there are two "not a step" stickers on his wings.

p.s. I know the question was about Hasbro's version. I just wanted to say "my e-Hobby Astrotrain" once more...

    Curses!!

Anyway, thanks to all of you guys for chiming in. I guess my pie-in-the-sky dream that I'd get an Astrotrain with NASA stickers will have to be filed away with my plan to learn conversational Klingon and my hope to one day own a car with a bumper-laser.

    Ah me.

-LB is off to dream of sugerplumbs and spaceshuttles that turn into trains and then robots

All you need to do is get a space shuttle model kit. The stickers will be in there.

...bumper laser, eh? I like it!
