    GOD!!!!

    :lolol  :lolol  :lolol

Page 13 and (wait for it) 15

I did NOT see that comming.

Then I fell out of my chair.

    Score one for Whedon.

That was one of the bet gags I've seen in years.

Yes, that is one of my favorite comics of all time. I feel so sorry for Beast. I hope he comes out of this with his powers under control. I don't want to see him completely devolve.

Ahh, now this is has my faith back, loved #13, didn't care for 14, and this reminds me of his first arc. I laughed out loud at the Wolverine bit.

Decent issue. Much better than the crappy Dangerous arc. Still too damn short.

I liked what they did with Wolverine, but the best part was definitely the last page. Excellent homage to one of the best X-Men panels ever.

The last page was the only decent thing in this issue. Another huge letdown by Whedon. Looks like this is my final Astonishing arc until we get a decent writer onboard.

Well, at least he's still more readable than Milligan.

And lets not even start on Claremont who's still stuck in the 70's. Er... go Whedon.

This issue was great! Loved Beast's devolution. Loved Shaw vs. Colossus. Loved what happened to Logan (turning into a scared kid's mindframe). I dunno what the last page is an homage to, can somebody link the original pic it refers to?

I...sorta liked it. It was definitely more of an action issue, which was good, because it was fun and we got lots of good art.

But I REALLY want to see this storyline advance. I trust Whedon, though...I'm just impatient. :p

Actually, the last few issues of Uncanny and New Excalibur have proven that Claremont is still a decent writer, provided it's filtered through someone else. Still, I'm not going to miss him that much when Brubaker takes over next issue. I loved Deadly Genesis and am very eager to see what Bru can do with the X-Men in a regular title.

This was the best issue of astonishing in awhile, I really enjoyed many different aspects of it and can see it headed in a positive direction. Good stuff, this is the sort of witty writing that has been missing in the X-titles for years.

Just read it, and loved it. There was so much raddness going in this comic. The last page got me all fired up for the next one. Kitty is my second favorite X character (after Excalibur era Night crawler) and to see her getting read to take on the Hellfire Club solo has me mucho excited.

Thank you Twin Twist for talking me out of New X-Men and getting me into this.

Colossus had a great scene too:

    Shaw:
"[Colossus you] Never complain, Never speak up at all. A child of the Sovet, First and last."

Colossus: "Why Should I complain? I'm having fun."

    WHAM!!:throw

You know, I'm thinking...is it possible that last page is more than just an homage, and is actually hinting at what's really going on with this arc? If I remember correctly, Jean didn't become the Black Queen willingly...

I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Emma hasn't really returned to her old evil ways and betrayed the X-Men for good.

I got the impression that she is being forced into this and the flash back dialog on the last page as Kitty is falling implies Emma wanted some one like her around that would be expecting her to do wrong. Maybe thinking having some one like that around would make the Club hold off on there plans giving her time to figure a way out of it.

If she didn’t work as a deterrent Kitty can also be the poster child for being underestimated. And we don’t see the Club neutralizing Lockheed.
