hope they got permission from hasbro. lol
Why would you want any themed Mobos? You can't see em unless you have a clear case or a big side window.
Same reason people buy ultra-gaming elite force mobos where the chip-fan is shaped like a night vision scope and the heat sink is shaped like a rifle magazine (complete with bullets sticking out the side).
How very odd...doesn't help that when it comes to mobos, ASRock is basically the lowest level of quality that won't blow up in your face the first time you power it on. Too bad a quality group like Gigabyte didn't do this instead.
I'd get a Mainframe one.
Dude, we should be glad Gigabyte doesn't do this. Do you know how many models they have for a single chipset alone and the difference between them all? I do not mind variety but they got so many different models that they can't migrate out of their model number system that they use. A letter difference means feature(s) missing, added, or something else that is different. I spent more time going over Gigabyte motherboard model differences and comparisons than I do with comparing motherboards from 3 different companies.
As would I. Too bad no one knows what's really cool.
You'd think a Starscream or Soundwave theme would be more popular.
This does explain why Hasbro's lawyers were suing over a computer named Transformer Prime, they seem to licensing TFs to computer companies!
The Bumblebee one comes with a faulty sound card for authenticity! =P
I was at Gamestop yesterday and they had a sign for the "Asus Transformers Prime" computer tablet or something. And they had one of the boxes on display.
I was thinking wait a minute.. Does Hasbro know about this? lol
Gigabyte probably figured they didn't need the license to sell their mobos, and weren't willing to shell out the money for said license.
Even with a clear case this seems very pointless. Owning a clear case my self, I don't even see my motherboard to begin with. I think design should fit function, if you were a little kid I could see this being something to have in your cp, however, being an adult I'll keep my monster custom built cp and just name it Soundwave.
They do.. and they're currently suing the hell out of ASUS over it.
Mainframe is in ReBoot, or as in the Autobot ActionMaster?
I'd want a Teletran-I themed one, with metallic orange elements, light blue LEDs, and enough memory to boot up 4 cars and a semi (or more realistically, 5 dinosaurs).
If I knew the Hardware specs were right, the Optimus model would be cool.
Indeed. My Server is already called TELETRAAN. If there were an appropriately Teletraanish mobo out there with decent specs, I'd totally grab one of those all-clear cases for it.
ASRock M/B are always weird.
Um... yay? I think I'll stick with my ASUS one, thanks...
