    Hi Everyone,
About a month ago I downloaded Google Sketchup and decided to try my hand at some 3D rendering. After uploading about 10 models to shapeways I put in two orders. Here is what I received from my second order.

The first piece I rendered was a request for a simple, unadorned, straight edged sword.

A few pieces later I uploaded the razor mace.

I am also a Joe customizer so I created some pieces for 1:18 scale as well.

A power Glaive to go with the shield

    and a Dual Pulsar Cannon

All of these are printed in Transparent Detail. While I can see that this will be problematic for the thugger I ordered I highly recommend this material for accessories and weapons.

All of these any many more models can be found here

As I get more pieces printed I will post them here. This was absolutely amazing to see something go from a completely virtual image on the computer to a real life piece. I can see why the other shapeways folks love the site so much.

Looking good - i like that Dual Pulsar Cannon. I't nice to see how your work gets more and more complicated. Look forward to seeing these painted up.

You have come a long way since you first spoke to me about Shapeways. As mnky as mentioned, the ramp up in detail as you progress is great and I am excited to see what else you're gonna come up with.

Btw, I didn't know Thugger is such a common word :lol
My design has became a genericized trademark!

Nice. Sad to see some of the detail lost (either that or the pics don't do it justice) in print, but they're nice none the less. Your weapons a really good. Don't know why you even asked me for help anymore.

Oh, and have you tried any other materials yet?

BTW, off topic I know, but did you buy the Fremble Twins recently? Shapeways sent me an order receipt thing and it just looks like it's filled with stuff you mentioned when you asked me stuff. Just curious, is all. :)

I didn't order a fremble but I have a rewind waiting to have my order finished. And I don't think there is any detail lost, the clear material is hard to shoot, well because you can see through it.

I almost didn't post my sword and mace, I am a little embarrassed by their simplicity. Especially the sword. But you gotta start somewhere. Right after the sword I made the machine gun bracer, and then the space warrior pack. As you get to know the tools details become easier. I still have a devil of a time with balls and sockets though. I don't think there are any mini-bots or articulated pieces in my near future. Though I am pretty pleased with working out linked chain.

I really like the Grey Knight glaive. The shield is also very nicely detailed.
I gotta start looking around Shapeways more...

All of these parts printed nicely in Transparent detail, though if you are going to play with them I would recomend strong and flexible. I don't see the transparent detail holding up to heavy play or young children.

I really like the thunderhead mold, and it seems to be getting a lot of upgrade love. So this is the first piece I designed for it. I didn't want to do a straight copy of IDW Guzzle, this is what I came up with. I am quite pleased.
