He should have gone for Bayformer designs instead. This sudden G1 transformation without saying it's a reboot or even soft reboot, will confuse the hell outta the general audience. BB at least retain much of the dreaded Bayformers and audience will recognize him from previous movies.

Hardcore G1 fans appreciate the G1 looks, but the general moviegoers are gonna be confused. This will not bold well for BB in december, and I just hope it flops, so they can reboot completely without any trace of Bay's work. Now, it's just half-ass lazy from Paramount.

Nothing against Travis, he's an excellent director but I don't want Paramount to get away from the damage they've done to Transformers with Bay and Lorenzo in the last 10 years.

If it flops, it's all on Paramount. Instead of no reboot, they decide to create this pseudo-alternative Bayuniverse.

 

They're basically making a G1 movie. Who cares if it's in the same continuity or not. Why is there always something you guys have to complain about.

 

How can the damage continue when you reboot from scratch? Lorenzo hands are all over this place in this movie. The name slapping of Starscream\Blitzwing for example.

 

What does any of this even mean?

 

If BB becomes a success, Paramount will continue with garbage they've done before with the franchise. They'll probably hire Bay back. I don't want that to happen.

 

That's quite literally the opposite of what will happen. If Bee does good, they'll get Knight back on board, G1-ify the designs further, and reenforce the reboot movement.

I don't understand how you came to that conclusion in the first place. "Wow, Bee did really well? Let's go back to the older designs the audience disliked, you know, the ones that aren't from the Bee movie. Let's hire back the same guy that directed the last box office disaster, TLK. Oh, let's not forget, we should also convolute the plot even more so than TLK, completely straying away from what Bee had done."

 

No they wouldn't?? What are you talking about man? Bay is the reason they didnt make as much money on the last film, why would they go back to that?

 

If this is a failure they might stop making any other movie.

 

The general audience won't be confused. Remember how many people thought Canopy was Bumblebee in the TLK trailer? Frankly, the general audience doesn't pay much attention to these movies. They know that Bumblebee is yellow, Optimus has a cool voice, and Megatron is bad. There might be a police car guy and a dinosaur guy in there too. I guarantee that 99.9% of the moviegoing audience doesn't even know or remember that characters like Soundwave and Wheeljack were in the previous movies. The general audience shows up to see robots fight each other. I don't think they care about details.

 

I dunno man... the whole opening statement:

‘I love the designs... but TK shouldn’t use them because the average joe will get confused because average joe is an idiot. But I want this movie to flop.’

Well, if you want this to flop shouldn’t you want idiot joe to get confused and tell his idiot friends to not watch this film? So shouldn’t you want to continue with the G1- ish look?

 

I really don’t think the general audience is going to bat an eye.

 

Do you have some inside information saying that bay will come back and you hope it flops I've seen many people looking forward to it and just cause the designs are different that'll confuse the audience please give me reasons on why. The movie flop the cast has a huge fan base Especially john and hailee steinfeld

This whole thing is very nonsensical and contradictory.

 

The general audience has been more receptive to the G1-esque designs, they're are a postive for this movie and getting people back in.

 

The gen audiences seem to be praisibg this movie design choices more than the people who are on this site
