Question about value

I was browsing the BBTS vintage retail section, and I discovered something I found a bit odd: Skids & Mudflap - Transformers Transformers II - Revenge of the Fallen (2009) Deluxe at BigBadToyStore

I understand certain figures go up in value over time, but really this much? And it says the packaging may contain dents and such (not super mint). I could buy this in a store any day for 10 bucks. So how is it determined this should be $55 online? Do people choose it because the figure seems like "rare" material?

This may sound like a dumb question but I'm just wondering.

Thats just messed up BBTS messed up.

 

Only time I buy from them is when they have a great sale going on, when it's a predorder of somthing that'll double or triple in value(ie SKywarp MP, and Clear BT Mirage), or when it's to get the Gears of War toys for my Nephew, otherwise ALL of their stuff is insanely priced, I can get better ones of eBay for a fraction of what they ask

 

Actually, with this thread in mind, I picked up two today, one for myself and one for anyone else who needs one.

i saw like 5-8 of them at my local wal-mart, i know their kind of hard to find but i don't want it.

What makes me laugh is that BBTS only has substandard packaging available for it as well. Maybe some of us have been lucky, but finding this guy doesnt seem anywhere near as difficult as the great Bumblebee hunt of 07. I still don't know how I wasted so much time looking for that guy.

 

BBTS is fucking awesome. The way I see it, if you don't like the price, don't buy it. Sure a lot of the time they charge up the ass for certain things, but other times they have really good deals. I pre order a lot of my Hot Toys figures from there and I always get a good deal, and piece of mind that it is going to be in mint condition.

I don't know why people get so pissed when newer toys sell for high prices at retailers. Don't buy them. ............ZOMG these toys are $50 what a rip off, I got a a MISB AFA G1 Jazz I paid like $3000 even though I can get a reissue for like $20 and it is the exact same thing, but it is not from the eighties.......... It seems kind of silly to bitch about something like this considering what a lot of members drop in cash around here. I remember when people thought $90 was a good deal for a Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus.

 

People are not really bitching in the thread. Most of the people are just saying they found them at other places. Other than the one or two negative comments about BBTS. The rest is sarcasm or talking about BBTS is great for imports and such, not for new releases.

 

Does anyone remember how much the '07 Movie's Concept Camaro Bumblebee was being scalped for a few years ago? *tries to think back*

I mostly use them for imports and the third party items like City Commander and the G3 trailers.
