Rumor has it yes, I remember hearing complaints when they were selling the Walmart exclusive US MP Starscream, that no one around them could find it in store. Now did they actually clean out the local Walmart stock, or did they get some from Hasbro, who knows.

I doubt that. Hasbro would break a contract obligation with Walmart. The first is the most likely. It's like the SDCC exclusive Soundwave. They have people purchasing toys for them.

That was to nullify some toy law to prevent resellers from reselling toys. It was a reaction from the lead paint scare from a couple of years ago. So for them saying it's being sold as a collectors item, it will bypass it being sold as a toy.

 

Wow. This is unbelievable. WHAT is going on with the availability of this ice cream truck? Up here in Canada it's harder to find than any Transformer toy I've ever hunted for... I've heard it's in heaps in some Walmarts south of the border.

But who in their right mind would pay 55 USD for it? It's a neat toy, but come on!

 

Um yeah, I just got mine for $11.00 at Wal-Mart, leaving 2 more behind... he's not RARE by far.

It just depends on what shipping option you go with.

 

Wow, there were 10-15 of them at my WM this weekend when I looked. They were scarce a month or two ago, but have certainly started to pop up in abundance lately.

 

I remember when Alts Ravage and Rumble came out. BBTS had a pre-order up for somewhere around the $25 mark. I pre-ordered both.

Then we find out that they were gonna be Wal*mart exclusives.

I got an email from BBTS stating that they had to "up the price" because of this....one of the reasons?....his "people" actually had to go out to the Wal*mart stores to get the Alts themselves, and then turn around and sell them at BBTS.

I canceled my pre-order and haven't bought from them since. I scored said Alts from a member here at cost plus shipping.

So do they shop at local stores?....sure they do.

And they have more cash flow than us "normal" folks, so they can buy the whole stock of any said item should they choose, and that in turn, screws us "normal" folks over....we can't find any cause they got to them first.

Wasn't there reports that Wal*mart MP Starscream was hard to find....like almost impossible....in the same area that BBTS is actually located?

 

I'm not saying this is awesome but, if you can't find him and he is in high demand they're gonna take advantage of the situation. I remember from the first movie, I never seen seen concept BB till late november in '07.
