Is there a chance we could get a few more pics of the head? The new head looks good but you can't see all of the detail in these pictures (parts of the face are in the shadow).

And yeah, I too have my reservations towards this kit. I like it a lot but I also don't get it why they haven't yet updated their FB page with the new design?

The Metallic version does, and very well too. I'm currently away on a work trip. As soon as I get home, I'll post a pic of Takara FoC Grimlock with the metallic gun.

I agree with you on both counts.

I think it looks soo much better on Takara than it does on Hasbro version. It should be noted that there is virtually no difference between the Metallic version and the regular version (that or I was sent two regular versions by mistake, which I am looking into atm :lol ).

The guns look nice. I can't see any difference in them in those pics tho. Does the metallic one have any of the metallic flecks in the plastic? Also, how do they feel in hand? Nice and sturdy or should they be handled with care?

As mentioned above, they look the same. I do not know if that's because I was sent the wrong item, or they were designed that way. I am looking into it with the online retailer I ordered from and with ArtTek as well.

    As for their feel -

VERY strong. You can literally throw the guns against the wall with little to no worries (and I'm talking a pitch throw, not a toss). You have to be deliberately trying to bend or break them in order for that to occur. Lord knows how many times I've accidentally dropped them from above 5ft and they remained intact.

Got my head and gun in. I really like them. Went with the metallic ones to match my Takara Grimlock. The metallic effect is subtle but the flecks are in there. Sorry the pic is so bad, I was in a rush this morning. Will try to get some better ones soon and will also get one with the blue visor in place. Very pleased with the head though, looks much better now!

I ordered metallic... and the package says so... but can't see any flecks. Does look great. I'm planning to order that other booster kit, too, to fill in the belly and upscale his weapons. Funny how much we spend to just get the Hasbro releases up to par with what they should have been.

Yep. Have the same happen to me, I see no difference between the two I have (one normal, the other metallic). Been contacting both the e-tailer I ordered from and ArtTek, neither have responded yet (hate slow responses).

Mine has tiny metallic flecks in the black plastic. They are really subtle but they are there. Not sure if it is something I'll be able to photograph though. It isn't super shiny and I really had to look to see them. If I had paid more for the metallic finish, I'd be upset but since the price was the same, I'm fine with it being barely noticeable.

Finally got a replacement Metallic one. Looks like the first one was a dud. However, it is as others have stated on here. The differences are very subtle. It wasn't until I placed the normal and metallic version side by side that I did notice the differences. The metallic version has a darker shade to it and has the flecks. From a distance it is completely unnoticeable.

And now all we need is for that Iron Factory wings/chest add-on to show some signs of life and we're all set. I don't care much for the other third party fill in item.

Here's hoping they make it for the Takara deco as well as Hasbro's.

I don't think dino mode is worth investing in. Bot mode on the other hand is.

For those that have this, would the metallic head and blaster look good on a regular Hasbro FOC Grimlock?

Based on the posts on this page, the differences are so subtle the answer's gotta be "yes". Only up close, or side-by-side, would the metallic stand out--and I doubt it'd be enough to look ridiculous on the Hasbro version.
