News Post : Artist Ken Christiansen On Transformers: Prime Concept Art
Nice, he's definitely someone I'd want working on a TF show.
love the jazz and the wheeljack
I'm really liking inferno shame the finished CGI is more movie like in style
Nah looks like 2 'Bees, 3 Jazz and 1 inferno to me
I'd like to see more of his work...does he have a website/blog/deviantart thingy?
[EDIT] oh wait so he does
So I think it's safe to assume that Prime will feature Animated/Classics 2.0 style heads, on movie style bodies.
I like these a lot, wish that first bee was what we were going to get in prime. same with any of the jazz designs
Love those designs. That Bumblebee looks MUCH better than the actual TFP Bumblebee, and I would love if that Jazz and Inferno ended up in the series
I've said it before, but I'd just like to drive the point home that AUGH GOD THE PANELS
DO NOT WANT
Also good to see this concept piece once again drives home the sameness I've come to expect from Prime's character designs. You can change all the details you want, but the lack of different body types is pret-ty obvious.
the inferno looks good
I REALLY like the look of those. The third Jazz would have to be my favourite of the Jazz designs, and the second BB is my favourite of the BB designs.
those designs look 10xs better then the stuff weve seen so far! i dunno i like them all personally
hopefully the designs stay a bit similar.....
Those Jazz look cool, I hope he makes it into the show. Although, now I hate Prime, why are we stuck with movie BB when we could have gotten that beautiful real BB ? I'm a fan of the rookie with heart BB, and not the ugly mute warrior BB. I would really like to see Bumblebee get a chance to grow like Cheetor did on a Transformer show, that would be cool.
Everyone thinks these are for transformers rime, but read the mini article.he said they're NOT from transformers rime.Maybe they are redoing G1 in their own style, who knows, but they're not from prime.
ok,now im just confused.i just reread the title for this article.its says its conept art for prime, then why does he say the work isnt for prime?Im so lost.lol
I'll help you out
Ken IS a Concept Artist for Transformers: Prime.
These are some of his works in which he tried to add some personal ideas into it.
Ex: Instead of the Bumblebee he actually did for TFP, he tried to do it differently, based on the G1 design instead of the Movie inspiration.
If I've read it correctly, he was one of the concept artists for Prime, but what he's showing us is stuff he's done on the side in a similar style, but aren't actually official concept art he worked on for the show. Basically fan-art, but from someone who actually worked on the concept designs for the actual show's characters.
Nice designs. While I like Bee as a Camaro, I have to admit that the Beetle-like-Bee he's come up with is nice too. Though if they had gone with something like that, I can't imagine a toy being physically possible, lol. Jazz is quite nice too. Would be cool if he showed up at some point in the show. Inferno isn't bad either. I also thought of Wheeljack at first, lol. (before reading the article).
Should be interesting to see what the cons he's drawn up look like.
These are pretty slick. Though it doesn't seem like these were actual character submissions, they're more or less the artist's own practice sketches to get a feel for working on the show.
That Bee design is kinda neat, but rather bland imo. The robot doesn't really seem to invoke much of the alt-mode.
I like the muscle car Bee we are getting just fine.
The Jazz designs are awesome. I really like the middle one best, but I also kinda like the placement of the wheels on the left version.
That Inferno is just badass. I'd really love to see that as a toy.
These really are a nice blend of what I like about the movie designs, streamlined with a more cartoon style. Very much looking forward to TF: Prime.
You said it better than I did. Two thumbs-up, Sir!!
I think it's all sorted, right ReaprPrime28?
Definitely glad we're getting a movie inspired Bee than another boring G1 inspired one.
Jazz and Inferno are nice though.
