I started with a reissue "Silverstreak" and painted it like a black hood Diaclone, like the cartoon Bluestreak was modeled after. I then reworked him to accept balljoints in his hips and head, reworked the waist lock so it will rotate freely, and scratchbuilt his knee joints. I also used a set of Prowl launchers that match the cartoon version better, and reworked the mounts so the head could still move while the launchers were stationary.

    And he still transforms.:thumb

nice work. I wish we could get some Universe figures like this. What did you use for the knees, I had thought you used a Classics Screamer for them, but you didnt do anything to Streaks waist.

This is really interesting work. It makes the G1 figs seem so much more dynamic. Do you have any plans on doing this to Prime? I would love to see that.

Another good one, amazing how much difference better articulation makes. The proportions also look a bit better on him as result, good work.

So far, I'm loving your re-articulation projects. The results are tremendously appealing to my little 1980's 10-year-old heart.

Is it wrong to say that I would have been a happy man-boy if Hasbro had given us these instead of Classics?

I LOVE these. I've always wanted to take a stab at Hot Rod with something like this, seeing your work on these is very inspirational in that regard for sure.

Oh my word, that's gorgeous. You really have got yourself bloody good at this - it looks like you actually wouldn't be able to tell this wasn't a production piece!
I think you at least need to do a step-by step on how you do those knee joints...

By the way, those are Prowl's launchers, not Smokescreen's - they were white. ;)
