When I die, I want to feel the smoothness of an ash bat, precisely balanced in my hands, the cool roughness of the mountain at my feet... the blare and heat of the oncoming asteroid, the mountain of stone dropping out of the sky.

    I want to swing.

I want to feel the bat connect-

i lold at 'if possible try to land feet first'.

you guys ever watched dead man walking? the scene where sean penn dies? thats the closest ive felt death as a real concept. which is strange considering ive been in my grandma's grave when we lowered her in it.

It says that after decapitation, the human brain can survive for about 7 seconds, would you feel the pain?
Or would you be in a state of shock?
    Either way, Thats pretty creepy.

I'd always assumed lethal injections were painless too, now I know different.

    Thanks D_C, good reads.

Very interesting read, Dark_Convoy, particularly for near-death experience survivors such as myself.

Once I was drowned (by someone as a kind of stupid prank), and it's pretty much as described as in the article. Panic grips you more than pain for it, then a certain calm (or exhaustion) washed over me after the panic was spent. So yeah, I did find out was that it's not as bad as people make it out to be (not to say I'm suicidal--hell I appreciate life more--, but I've more or less come to terms with the fact that we're all going to kick the bucket someday, so why fear it so?).

2nd time, I flatlined during a surgery... What I gather is that it was cardiac arrest, but for a surgery in the nose (doctors didn't know what to make of it either)? Weird stuff. Either way, people think I'm totally out of my frigging mind when I say death isn't that bad. 3 times a charm, huh?

Interesting piece of information about you... Not sure if I should feel fortunate or envious of your experiences.

That would suck to be decapitated and to fee lthe pain for 7 seconds.

Sucks about the woman who was struck 11 times before the executioner finally killed her, that's gotta suck. Be still will ya

What about flesh eating disease? Lou Gherig's? A stroke? Quadriplegia? Getting your arms and legs cut off with a chainsaw?
