I know there's TFW'ers that watched this awesome show. It's been pretty much confirmed by Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, and Ron Howard. Link to the news HERE.
There was a thread about this some time back. I loved the show. We'll see if it comes to the big screen.
Ive been keeping an eye on this. I assume a script is being worked on now. I cant wait to see the movie! So, is anybody else going to go to the midnight showing covered in blue makeup?
I'm more excited about this than I was about Serenity. That is saying a lot. Related, I'm currently revisiting Arrested. This is my third time through the show and it just keeps getting better. BEES?!?!
I thought they closed everything up really well in the finale. I'd kill for an AD movie (okay, I'd kill for alot of things, but this would still be one of those things), but I'm not sure where they could go with it. I'd rather the show come back. I just don't see them accomplishing much in a finite amount of time... *shrugs*
It could go two ways, which is to have it be a part of the show's continuity like Serenity, or to have it be more-or-less standalone, like X-Files 2. If it's the former, well, I can see it going many places, and I'm sure the writers' ideas are better than my own. If you look at the ending as a transition, there are a lot of funny ideas in there. I'm totally making stuff up now, but perhaps GOB and Buster will now compete for Lindsay's affections since she's not a blood relative. Since we found out Lucille 1 was the mastermind behind all these misdeeds, perhaps we can see her behind bars. I'm sure George-Michael and GOB will have many interesting scenes regarding Anne. I don't really know what would convince Michael to come back to the family, but how many times has he decided to abandon them already? Maybe GOB will do something hilarious, like kidnap Marta, Jesse, Mrs. Veal, and Rita and threaten to feed them all roofies unless Michael comes back to help the family. My point is, there is still a wealth of hilarity remaining in the Bluth family, and while I think the ending was a great way to end the series, it's not like AD's ending was the ending to End of Evangelion. I just made up those ideas off the top of my head, and I'm sure AD's writers have much better ideas than me. If the writers go for the self-contained story, then, well, the finality of the finale isn't a big problem anymore, is it?
Favorite lines: "They're not tricks, Micheal! They're illusions! A trick is something a whore does for money. Or cocaine." And: "Well it's been a while since anyone called me a little tike." The show was genius. Need to reNetflix it again.
This is awsome news. That show should have never been cancelled, it had so much more life left in it. The finale was ok, but I think they could continue it rather easily. I suppose it's too much to hope for that this movie could spawn a renewal of the series.
