Picked up this trailer the other day, it looks perfect for making a Prime trailer out of since it already opens up in the middle and even has a radar that comes out the top! uh, what are you planning to do with the cab? I almost threw mine away, then decided to keep it if I were to ever need parts *L* I removed the stickers, and plan to paint the helipad inside... I wanna keep the chopper because its appropriate to be merely a drone doncha think? I need to trim down the post so it will fit the square hole on Armorhide, and I'm not sure what to do for the outside of the trailer. I'd love it if there were THS-02 sized outside stickers available, but there aren't. any ideas? EDIT: I forgot to say I bought mine at a Walmart, and it was $4.
The chopper is getting tossed. Dont care for Hotwheel toys, especially when I can substitute them for a Transformer of the same size. Which Evac should be perfect, since there's a heli pad for him. Going to try and put the spoilers on the side of Armorhide, have to trim the tabs, cut it in half and make a slot on armorhides side for em. Tried to use the cabs shell for armor for armorhide, but he wouldnt fit. Used a plastic drywall anchor for the towing pin, poked a hole with a soldering iron and it popped right in, then dremeled to tip to fit Armorhides slot. Main problem is making a trailer stand for it so it can stand up on it's own (that's where Im stuck lol) Trailer looks good Primered, used kilz primer and it stuck very well. Not sure for the outside trailer sticker. Im not too good with the masking tape so rather use a decal. There's an extra one that came with reissue Star Convoy but it's a little big Only idea I have for now is scanning the side of the G1 trailer (unless I can get a good pic instead) and resize it in photoshop to fit, surround with grey just in case and print on sticker paper. Then gloss it on Also not sure whether to go gray or silver with the trailer. But may try applying those Reprolabel trailer upgrades around the inside, to get some panels & screens going Damn , shoulda bought mine at Walmart, ah that figures
I'd paint it grey, there's a lot of trailers that are grey. silver I think would end up looking cheap cause it won't be nearly as nice as the shiny metal trailers you see.. I'd love to get a prime sticker that would fit for the outside. where'd you melt a hole on armorhide? I'm just gonna use the square hole he already has... the trailer peg is just barely too big, which is easily fixed. I also want to put screens and such on the inside. I'm not altering armorhide himself any, just making him a trailer/base.
Did'nt put anyholes in Armorhide (yet) , and put the hole in the trailer for a new tow peg. Going to try and put those spoilers on Armorhides side in a 45degree, but trying to figure out a way to get them to rotate or remove for botmode
ahh ok, in the trailer. I misunderstood. that's cool about the spoilers, but I like him the way he is surprised you're not taking the chrome exhausts.
Actaully I like the way he is as well, but since I have 3 of em hehe Was 'nt motivated for it until after seeing Cheebs' Armorhide Prime May leave him as Armorhide though so his trailer will be unique to him PRIMEered so far about to do a wheel swap Here's what I was going to try with the pipes. They're not on yet, but this will give an idea Hoping it tones that vertical look down the cab has Think Im going to scan the MP Trailer box since it has a perfect sideview of the trailer art. Here ya go, it was made quickly so might need to touch it up, but redid all the colors so it'll will be more vivid and added more stripe at the end since MP's is cut off Hold your trailer up to the screen and see if that's about right .lol Not sure if it should be bigger or smaller. Going to print on sticker paper and cut that stripe out
looks good. think you can sharpen the autobot logo? if not, you can easily take someone's autobot logo and superimpose it over the one on the scan, or I could do it. I have an idea to run by ya first though. I think it'd be cool if you scanned the whole trailer side there, so that the decal would not only add the big stripe and autobot symbol, but also add in the molded details to keep the trailer from being plain, and it actually adds realism!
So far, that decal was a perfect fit. Might slap a repro over the symbol tho Decided to go with a hammered grey finish
Woah, looks Sweet. I need to get me one of those trailers now, haha. First Armourhide though. It's almost worth painting him red with the white stripes.
No prob RL, but Id have to mail em. Im out of sticky paper so I can laminate em with heavyduty clear tape if needed, will be a little thick tho Paper yeah, always wanted to Prime this guy, might research more Armorhide Prime customs before I make any moves
