I see we're at the pedantry stage now.

I thought the scene was half slow motion which would probably make it 30 seconds.... roughly.

In-universe answer: It's like that Futurama episode where Prof Farnsworth put the timer in a bomb upside-down. Instead of 60 minutes (60:00) it had 9 seconds (00:09) to run.

    Real answer: movie time.

I thought we'd been there for at least four years.

How's this for being a pedant? Technically, Que says "Armed in 30 seconds." That doesn't mean detonate. Grenades have several states. When you pull the pin, when the safety lever disengages, the grenade is armed, but does not detonate until the fuse burns down to the detonator to explode the device.

Who knows what the mechanism is for actual detonation in Que's boomsticks. They could be activated, armed and not explode until it actually connects with something? Also, the humans use them on Barricade and Co. later in the movie, and there sure isn't 30 seconds between arming and detonation. Perhaps, they activated them eariler?

    Whee!!!

This. Movie-time is never real-time, unless you're watching 24. Cuts and slow motion, among other things make accurately timing something pointless. It's 30 seconds in Sam and Lenox's world.

I wasn't complaining, I was just doing a fun little experiment and then pointing out the results. I'm not mad at the filmmakers for that whole 30-second thing, if that's what some people were thinking.

    Wasn't it twenty-five minutes/fifty-two seconds?

Twenty-five minutes... fifteen minutes... five minutes... six "H" minutes?
