I didn't see a thread for this so I'm bring one up. Now that PCC have resurrected the mini-con figure; let us remember when the mini-con was the focus of an entire line.

Armada is the only line that I bought the entire US run (at least I believe I do). I only bought the Scourge and Ruination during the RiD line so when Armada came out and it was entirely vehicles I was excited to see Transformers shining away from the beast era. The mini-con gimmick for the most part was pretty uninspiring for me. Some worked well like Blurr's car mode, but most were awful like Sideswipe (I think that was his name, blue car, late in the line, awful mini-con bike). However I did love the mini-con scale. It was awesome to see Transformers on that small of a scale that didn't transform the same way: pull down vehicle front-reveal head, pull back midsection-reveal legs.

Also there were plenty of combiners.

Armada was a fun series for what it was: lots of gimmicks that sometimes worked haha. Armada will always hold a special place in my collection as it did re-spark my interest in Transformers.

The Mini-con gimmick is a cool idea and I hope the PCC line can really take it to the next level.

Armada is what got me back into Transformers after Beast wars and Beast machines ended. A lot of the toys kinda sucked but there were a plenty of good ones as well and they were quite fun. The show also had its moments.

Demolisher was the first armada toy I got and it was the first toy in my collection (I had already lost all my beast wars toys by then...)

Wasn't a fan initially. I much preferred the very realistic alt modes and the detailed transformations and intricate robot modes seen in RiD.

I grew to enjoy it though.

It was "Darkness" at that point. The Makers were wowing the fandom with Car Robots 2000/R.I.D but when Armada debut, TFs seemed to take one step backwards. :redface2:

I wouldn't say that everything's a total flop though. I still dig my Magna Convoy/Magna Jet Concoy, Magnus, STD Convoy, Scourge/Nemesis Prime but I sold away all others in that series.

Should have less than 5 pieces remaining for that line. :lol

The Megatron mold's really grown on me in how fun it is to tinker with it, in tank or 'bot mode. All the little compartments and minicon-aided functions are nice. I picked up Megs and Galvatron and tracked down the Botcon Megazarak repaint too. It's surpassed Tidal Wave and Overload as my favorite mold from Armada (and I really like Tidal Wave and Overload).

Really liked the simplicity of Armada. Did'nt take 2 days to transform them.
it was a smal evolution as well, since mini con ports are still being put on new TF's.
No gimmicks attached but it's still nice.

We finally got our Unicron too. Tidal Wave's still one of my favs

I see Armada as the line that needed to happen, the one that reminded the designers and engineers that they were making toys for kids, that it wasn't a sin for a toy to not be overly complex, to have gimmicks, and to actually be sturdy.

... And Minicons were cool too.

Armada brought us MiniCons, and for me that means it was full of win!

I have most of the Armada line and most of the repaints and remolds that were released in other lines.

Welcome If you scroll down to Deisplay 5, that's where mine esentially start. Other's are dotted about in other diplays too.

After only having Unicron for years I decided to go back and get some Armada toys. They are not amazing in any way but, they have a simple charm. I love the fact that my 3-year-old can actually "play" with one and it not be destroyed. These are durable. I also like the fact that I can transform 4 of them in the time it would take to transform 1 movie design. Overall, fun little bots if nothing else.

Armada Optimus Prime (The deluxe sized one) was the first Transformer I owned. (Other than RiD X-Brawn, but let's just say he didn't make it through.) I gained most of my interest in Transformers around that time, and it's a staple of my childhood.

Armada was what got me into Transformers when I was little. I'll never forget it. Thundercracker and Demolishor were my first Transformers ever. Currently, I'm rewatching the series, good times good times :)

guess I outta get my gun.....or I can just watch some episodes of Armada, that outta do the job :D

I didn't really care for the Armada line at all but I think it was a nice move on Hasbro/Takara's part because of how great the line sold. Plus it finally gave us a Unicron figure

    nice pictures haha.
I didnt like Armada when I first saw it, or the toys. But the playstation game got me into it.
But at the end of the line I picked up Tidal Wave, Megatron and Thundercracker and I loved them, fantastic fun to play with.

Got rid of them during a collection purge, and I really miss them now.
