When the Ark crashed on earth, we know it was Mount Saint-Hilary, but which state was it? Was it far from the city? was there a big distance between Decepticons headquarters and the Ark?

    Thanks

    Either Oregon or Washington State.

    The G1 comic specifically.
I don't think they ever named where the toon Ark was.

It's established that it's in Oregon, near Portland and Mt. Hood.

He admitted that he'd posted this in the wrong forum.

That said, the Autobots had to have come to Earth somehow. Who said they didn't have a ship that crashed? We don't know what happened three years ago (in-universe). Maybe that's where all the Cybertronian tech in the base came from.

The comics explicitly place it in Oregon, since that's within 50 miles of the real-life Mount St. Helens, whose eruption in 1980 obviously inspired the whole Mount St. Hillary thing. Most continuities go with this as a location, though the cartoons are notable for never talking about it (though manga based in cartoon continuity would claim it was in Arizona).

Oh, okay. If I remember correctly, the cartoon showed the Ark to be in the Pacific Northwest as Ark. I thought it was Mt. Saint Helens, but for some reason Mt. Saint Hilary comes to mind.

The Decepticon base was said to be in the Atlantic Ocean, so that would put it on the other side of the country

^They didn't, but in "Megatron's Master Plan", the mayor of Central City seemed to have some authority when the army surrounded the Autobot Headquarters, so I guess the closest they came was saying it was near this fictional town.

Wtf? the Decpticon base shouldn't have been that far away, considering the autobots had a base in oreagon the creators could have set up the base on the western seaboard /:

I'm thinking the writers didn't want to always make it easy for them to attack each others bases?

"Day of the Machines" shows a map that puts the Decepticon base in the middle of the Atlantic. I'm pretty sure the nebulous placing of the Autobot base is entirely deliberate, so the Autobots could quickly go wherever in America they needed to go without the wobbly logistics of it all being *hugely* apparent (any moreso than they are already), so the Decepticon base could at least be in any ocean, but to be in the *middle* seems pretty specious given that at the very LEAST, it should be fairly near the coast per the crash from MTMTE Part 3 and how its normally depicted.
