A commission job to turn TF 07 Longarm into Gears with a repaint and a little head sculpting.

I think this looks great! I think the towing hook and light bar need to be gone for Gears, though.

He definitely has Gears colors. I think this is the first time I've seen this figure and actually liked the way he looked. Good job dude!

Very nice bit of repaint work there; I love those metallics. :D

I agree with the others that he could do without the hook and lightbar - and since they're all just part of the launcher (easily unscrewed from the right hand, which I recommend doing anyway; it allows him to actually put down his weapon, and it still plugs in to his left hand securely), the only thing to do after that is resurface the space that's left. Which, despite how long it took me to get round to actually doing mine, isn't actually that hard.

But even if he's still a tow truck, it's a beautiful job. :)

I like the tow arm... I love the way the tow arm transforms into the gun, and I like it when weapons are able to be incorporated into vehicle mode, so it works great in that respect. Also this gives the original Ark crew a tow truck that they didn't have before. :)

Yeah I know Gears wasn't a tow truck but the vehicle was meant to be one and thus looks kind of odd without the tow parts IMO. Big gap in between some out of place looking red metal plates in the bed without the tow parts.
Also it was a commission so I did what I was asked to do. :)

It was painted with sprays and brush paints. I wish I hadn't used brush paints for the side window tints though. Came out a bit wavy.

Well, while just removing the hook would leave a big gap, it is possible to fill that out and make it a flatbed, as in the thread I linked to.
But if that's what the customer wanted... :D
