Didn't want to hijack the Konami/PS3 thread, which had a few people commenting on how their Wii's are gathering dust.

My question is, 9 months after launch, are you still playing Wii? I haven't touched mine in over 4 months. :(

Honestly, I love the Wii. It's a fun system. But as seems the norm with Nintendo's non-handheld systems, it's lacking in the "great games" department. I finished Zelda a week or so after launch. Yes, it was (in my opinion) one of the best games ever made.

But what now? I've gone through Trauma Center, Elebits, Excite Truck, and other games. Nothing's really jumping out and grabbing my attention either at the moment. I love Metroid. I like Super Metroid. I have not liked the Metroid Prime's. So that's out.

I'm looking forward to Mario Galaxy. That's about it. SSB doesn't do a thing for me. I find fighting games pretty boring. I haven't touched the VC in quite some time either.

So, you still diddling your Wii?

I think the Wii is still being played because of a few key titles being release, like Super Paper Mario and Metroid Prime 3. I think they are high quality games- however no matter what system they were on, they would be good. I still think 3rd party support is pretty bad. I mostly play the 360.

At the moment, yes. I am playing Metroid Prime 3. You might wanna give it a try, the controls are some of the best I've ever used on a console. Give it a rent at least.

You might wanna try Super Paper Mario, Wario Ware, and Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition.

I don't use the virtual console. I've been into emulation for a while, so it's nothing new to me. See, if they updated some of the titles like Xbox live does (like new graphics, online multiplayer, new weapons, levels etc), then I might jump.

I'm playing with my Wii. *fap fap*

I don't own one, but I was at a friend's house for a week and was a bit underwhelmed. I would much rather play Twilight Princess on a gamecube, Wii sports is fun for a bit, and wiiplay is crap. I still like it a good deal, but I can hardly warrant a purchase. Especially since I own a NES, SNES and Sega Genesis. :(

Did you try Resi 4? Allegedly the control scheme makes it a whole better experience.

Although it still has that bullshit escort stuff that made me drop the 'cube version.

There was escort stuff in there? And to think I've been giving myself happy endings. Huh.

Anyway, I just want to back up the whole "Prime 3 teh the qwicked". I'm surprised how good and more importantly natural the control scheme feels. I'd recommend giving it a rental at least.

I play the Wii damn near every day.

Why complain about lack of great games? it's the system's first year. a constant flow of great games never happens in the first year. the 360's first year had a few good games, the PS3 has a few. the PS2's first year was a wasteland, and look how that system turned out.

The Wii has quite a few great games out now, and a bunch more on the way by the end of the year. this is completely typical for a console's first year, and if you consider the time it takes for developers to get used to the new controls, it's been an exceptional first year.

Naw, their oldest kid is 12. Yes, escort missions are the killers of good games.

Completely not Wii-related but I have to back up the "I hate escort runs" sentiment.

I'm currently in the middle of Super Metroid. I personally love the VC and play games somewhat rarely, so I'm still doing good. I may pick up Metroid prime 3, but I hate 1st person shooters and get motion sick playing them.

Only when my family is over, we break out some Wii Sports. I picked up RE4 but haven't been motivated enough to play it much.

Im playing it again. Metroid Prime 3 fucking rocks.

Also, I must add, despite the whole escort mission thing RE4 is still a damn awesome game.

I play it everyday. Metroid Prime 3 is amazing, absolutely amazing. Every future Wii based FPS needs to duplicate the basic control scheme...

I'm always playing something off the VC or one of the other games I have for it. I was thinking about getting a 360, but... I feel at this point it would be a waste of money. ^_^

Yep, playing through Metroid and Super Metroid on VC, and plan on buying Metroid Prime 3 once I beast Prime 1 and 2 (I've owned them for years and never finsihed them, strange huh). Plus with Mario Galaxy and Brawl coming out, as well as a new Mario Kart, I'll be playing with my Wii for a very long time.

Also, I occasionally play Wii sports just to see if I'm getting any better at it.

Havn't touched it since I got Metal Slug Anthology for it. I don't think I ever even got that voting channel.
