Well I used to sculpt for a company who got sculpting work from hasbro uk...nothing transformers though, usually just action man and the odd concept model for other toy lines.

I'm 33 and I still collect toys.

I get significantly less hassles than some other people who collect, because I happen to not "look" like I collect toys, but in the one instance when my sister, (the 100k+ a year engineer) gave me grief I simply told her: Design one with a working transformation, that is cost effective, and will appeal to the target audience, and I'll quit collecting. The stipulation was that since it was "kids stuff" it had to be done in a week. She failed. I gloated. Twas glorious, and a year later she bought me Masterpiece Starscream.

Point is, find a level ground with him. Personally your dad sounds a little off kilter, I mean seriously. He believes Hasbro pays people to come here and promote TFs and that they're not that popular? There must not be a Walmart within 40 miles of you guys if he believes that.

seriously...this summer when the san diego comic con is going on...turn on the news to CNN or another major cable news source...and show him the thousands of star wars, transformers, star trek, comic book characters that have legions of fans out there....

 

you're dad's messed up lol, does he think that 10s of thousands of hasbro employees actually have the time to be online this much, i have an 11-12 hr a day job, then relax on here reading and talking to other fans about toys, and most of the people on here have perfectly normal lives, just share a common interest
