I was originally gonna do that, but I can't afford to buy realistic looking armor, But I do have all the other stuff, Hakama and all, which I will wear. its not really to late if you're willing to spend a bit. you can get a hakama online and just pay for express shipping.
I've got to work, but we get to wear costumes so I'm trying to decide what to do. I'm thinking of going as Jake Blues, of the Blues Brothers. All I need is some dark glasses. Although my other option is a tradition martial arts outfit and a wine jug to be a drunken master.

I'm gonna be a Ninja, but I didn't want to buy a crappy costume so I bought a Ninja uniform and tabi boots from some martial arts website. My girlfriend is gonna be a pirate....we're gonna fight.
I have a ninja suit too, but couldn't bring myself to buy the Tabi when they cost more than the suit + (wooden) sword. I just wear combat boots instead.

Hey! I got one! Phy gave me an idea! You could wrap a sheet around you and pull it tight with some clear fishing wire. Hang some rope off the bottom, douse yourself with some fake blood and go as a tampon! That'll get you chicks, for sure!
