Are you completist? Do you buy more then 1 of each toy?

I've been pretty cheap when it comes to Transformers nowadays. But lately I've been having the urge to buy multiples of each one I get. 1 for loose, 1 for MISB/MOSC, and 1 for future investment (we all know Transformers rise in value. Looks at the Alts!)

Anyone feel this way? Anyone actually get EVERYTHING that comes out from Hastek?

I could neither afford everything, or find a home for it. And Seaspray is currently the only TF I have more than one of!

Usually one of each mold on the North American releases.

If they are cheap I will buy scouts and deluxe re-paints.

Yes, I suppose I could be called a completist. I have 1 of each bot mode for just about every TF you can buy. (meaning I have two for Punch/Counterpunch and dupes on combiners to display the single and the combined bot.)

I also pick up MISB when I can as I can afford them. And as far as how complete my collection is, I count all of the SWTF's and the Animorphs.

So far Classics is the only line I've completed. I have not the funds, desire or space to complete any other line.

I'm only a completist for certain lines. I have all the Alternators, and all the SWTFs, and Devestator will complete my Classics. But, I only have 5 of the 6" Titaniums, most of Cybertron, and about half of Energon. I rarely buy remolds, except for the lines mentioned above.

I don't get buying multiples of stuff unless they're items that lend themselves to troop building (Insecticons, Minicons, Terrorcons). I do purchase both domestic and Japanese versions of everything, so in a sense that's buying multiples, I suppose.

Other than that, 100% completionist, with the exception of "lucky draws".

I am/was a completist, barring repaints. I have most of the G1-and up stuff sealed, plus the loose stuff from my childhood. As I have gotten older, (and started to run out of room) I have become more picky about what I add to my collection. I stopped collecting Star Wars and G.I. Joe (but I can't pass up the 25th anniversary line). So it's just TFs now. I passed on Universe and Attacktix for example, but I will be gettin' the Prime and Megs ones.

The movie line with their wacky designs will be the first time I don't buy everything mainline as it comes out, but I figure there will be some clearance sales that will be too hard to pass up.

This is the first year since the BW/BM era that I haven't gone after all the TFs. Pased on MP Screamer because of multiple QC issues, (too expensive a gamble, bad colors too), and some of the Kiss Play stuff (can't accept the near porn). However, there's more than enough to blow $$ on, Club Exclusives, the BotCon, MP Megs and the soon to be onslaught of all the Movie stuff. Who really has the time/money for doubles with all of that? Oh, and after Hard Hero, The Matrix and the first Battlefield Statues, I'm pretty much done with Statues, Busts, Snow Globes and the like.

I am a completist with the Alt line. I have one of each loose on display, one of each MISB, a ton of customized Alts, and several other duplicates for kitbashing/trade fodder.

The only line I've ever completed is BW NEO. Made me very happy to get them all (despite the fact I'm contemplating selling most off...). I've tried on a few other lines before, but NEO's the only one that captured my attention and held it long enough to get them all.

I buy what I really, really like...which means I'm an Alternators completist, and don't own much else.

Not a completionist by any stretch. I buy what I like. Alternators is the only line that I have completed... for now.

As for doubles, I only tend to buy them with the intention of trying to get into kitbashing. Or if I do something stupid and bust the original (Alt Grimlock).

I only collect what I like and can afford. I have bought more than one of certain characters (classics Starscream) to customize later. I've bought a KO cybertron screamer to customize also.

Can't afford to be a completist, and even if I had an unlimited surplus of expendible income, I wouldn't be a completist. I only buy what suits my fancy. There are certain G1 characters that I may buy no matter what form they're released in, but I still tend to be choosy. There have been a number of Primes and Megs released over the years that I didn't buy.

And I rarely-to-never buy: repaints, remolds, redecos, or imports. Imports are just too danged expensive. And it's very hard for me to justify "double-dipping" on any toy that's just been slightly redone. That's why I've never cared for most TF convention or TF club exclusives. Just because something has a fresh coat of paint and an accessory added doesn't make me want it.

I also happen to think that investing money in toys is a poor investment choice, but that's just my opinion. ...mainly because the negatives far outweigh the positives.

I just buy for myself, and hope one day that my future child/children may also share in my hobby and that I can pass my collection onto them.

I do actually buy duplicates sometimes, though... if the clearance discount is deep enough. But I don't usually keep them. I use them for trades.
