Are you as sick of the hunt as I am?

I am just checking if you guys are equally sick of the hunt as I am. For the last 3 weeks I have been checking about 6 or 7 stores in the NY/NJ area for the new RTS Wave 2.

You know what I found. Nothing. Not even a box to say, RTS was here. Meanwhile I see that most other states have these with no issue. Very annoying. I think I am spending more money on gas then I would on shipping from BBTS. I guess lesson learned on this.

Also, what the hell goes on after Christmas. It's like retailers don't like to sell:
    - KMart in Union Square NY: Has not stocked TF shelf in over 1 month.
    - Home Goods in Middletown NJ: Has not stocked any TFs in over 1 1/2 months. There aren't even any pegs for them anymore

I mean are these guys even trying to sell this stuff? Why even have a TF section with nothing in the section. DRIVING ME NUTS, and making me tired of hunting.

Christmas it seemed always showed constant stock.

    Yes and no.

For the stuff the stuff that's supposed to be in stores, yes. I still haven't seen PCC Grimstone and Steamhammer anywhere. The new wave of Generations deluxes appears to have already been gobbled up by scalpers at every store I've been to. I managed to finally find RTS Tracks, but still no Jazz. I'm considering just ordering cases in the future to save myself the hassle and gas expense.

As for hunting through thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets for the occasional TF bargain? No, I never get tired of that.

I know the feeling. I haven't seen any trace of RTS anywhere where I live.

Here's one question: when the waves get released, how fast does your area stocks it? Where I live it takes me like 1-2 months to get anything. So i don't go searching right away. I kinda know how it flows around here.

Yeah, Targets and Wal-Marts are really far from Brentwood and Toys R Us has been pretty bare. It seems like they never even got HftD Wave 2.

I think the remaining Movie 2 characters I wanted (HA Mudflap and Red Rampage) made me sick of the hunt. Now for the most part, I like to order my stuff, with the increases in prices at retail, and the POL option with BBTS, it is hardly worth the hastle. Just make sure you keep an eye on your state's sighting section to see if the figures are even hitting your area, and if you are in it for the hunt, ask someone working in that department what days they get stock in. Most employees Ive come across will volunteer that information pretty readily.

I will still hit a store if I am in the area, or bored, and like to hit two Walmarts that are between my gym and home. This doesn't take me out of the way, and I get done working out right when they start stocking at night.

I find a couple of things.

The employees by me are lazy. Real lazy.

I mean, Target they never check.
TRU by me always has full pegs of old stuff, so if you ask, they will say, we won't stock till these get cleared
Other stores are ok with telling me

    Ebay:
i have trouble getting out and about, so i have to order online.

and 94.44% of the time, things are smoother that way.

there are the few times when i run into hassles with those hard to find figures.

but I still manage to find a few "impulse buys" at WM from time to time and it feels good.

it gets annoying, but i miss the hunt.
i miss the day long, cross state toy hunts with my best friend between here and Birmingham, scouring places for elusive items with a copy of ToyFare in hand.

there's some freedom in the hunt for me; too much for me to voluntarily give it up.

yeah, but there is nothing worse then taking a full day off and finding nothing.

Then coming back here, looking at the sightings and people found the stuff you were looking for.

I cannot even find a freaking wfc Soundwave now.

I'm not so much sick of the hunt as frustrated right now. The only Transformer figure I actually want enough to actively hunt for it is the RTS G2 Optimus Prime. Every where I've been, I've found leftovers of the wave, but no Optimus. Hell, one Toyland I went to had, I shit you not, 6 of the Hailstorm repaint, 6 Bumblebees, 4 Perceptors, 3 Jazzes and 10, yes 10!, Wreck-Gars. And not an Optimus in sight.

I've decided to take it as a sign that I should focus more on my DCUC collection and not switch back and forth between lines.

Getting the 3 sweeps in the RTS Wave 2 line is going to be a pain.

I want to know why, in this digital age, all the major retailers do not have methods in place to make it easier to determine what is actually in stock, or to order online for in-store shipment/pick-up.

This. Plus you can get them cheaper in online store. My latest figures i got them in local Ebay page and i saved money too. ^^ Besides i know stores can get delay bringing new toys of skipping entire waves. :S
