Are you addicted to xbox Achievements or getting a really high gamer score?

Sometimes I am, but not to the point were I'll buy or rent a game just for achievements....(well except King Kong)

Sometimes. Occasionally I'll try a game for some easy achievements. Haven't sunk so low as to rent Avatar for the quick 1000gp in five minutes yet though.

I know what you mean. I was kinda thrilled when I got that and 15K. Now I'm working towards 20K.

Sometimes if I see a game is on sale I will check out reviews and also achievements before buying. I estimate what ones I could achieve and weigh it against costs. Something that has all expert level or massive amounts of Multiplayer achievements I will pass on.

A while back I got the Sega Collection. It is ok. Not my fav. But it has allowed me to get a lot of achievements. Some I may never get (Robotnik's MBM kicked my ass) which eliminates my chances of ever getting other future ones like unlock everything. But I can get 60% or so so I'm somewhat happy.

Yeah, I'm addicted to achievements, too. And the sad thing is that they don't really do anything. It's basically just bragging rights to show off to people that you had the balls to do stuff that's very hard. I just wish that the Achievements would get you some sort of bonus (Halo 3 seems to do that for example: collecting all skulls in Campaign gets you the Katana for multiplayer). Or better yet, if you got all achievements in a game, you'd be rewarded some Marketplace points. Then I'd really whore myself out to some achievements.

Totally addicted. I don't have a huge gamerscore list, but I have a friend who got his xbox the same week I did and we've always been in a race. Right now he's like 600 points ahead of me, so I've been joking I'm going to rent some disney games and catch up!

it actually keeps me from playing Wii games since I think the more time I spend playing Zelda or whatever, the less time I have to get gamer points...

My fiance has a gold account now, so I'm getting her a boost where we can.

I've been shy about getting a PS3, but I suppose I can just go for trophies...

Yes, even though my gamerscore doesn't reflect it but I wanna be like my Bro, he has 40,000 gamerscore, which i think is one hell of a feat.

It really depends the game though really, if its good and I want to play it the achievements come eventually if its just an average game I try and get achievements as a way of justifying my purchase :)

Kinda. I like the challenge some of the Achivements provide, and I like the feeling of unexpectedly getting a non-story achievement. That's why I really like Left 4 Dead. Achievements are plentiful and not too hard, and you can get most of them by doing what feels right. Oh, and lighting things on fire. I may have died when I got "Burn the Witch," but it was damn fun to get it.

I am not addicted however it does give games a lot of replayability so I'm all for them.

    Not in the least.

They're a neat addition to the game, but some of them are kind of ridiculous. Isn't there one in left 4 dead where you have to kill 39000 zombies or something like that?

There are some pretty cool ones too, like the Sagat's scar achievment where you had to beat sagat with ryu using a fierce shoryuken attack.

Really the only ones I find myself actively pursuing right now are the halo ones because you gets something significant from them. The added armor for getting achievements is a really nice perk, and I wish more games used similar incentives.

That being said though, Halo is also one game that suffers from achievement hunters who go into multiplayer games only to get achievements and refuse to play properly because they're too busy trying to stand in one spot so their buddy can hit them with a mongoose to get an achievement. Still though, that's a problem with the mp community itself, and not a fault of the achievement designers.

I forget the exact number was it was the same as in Dead Rising. But in DR you had an underground parking lot with all to wall re-spawning zombies and cars to run them over with.
