Not Transformers. The first is from Orguss, the second a Combattler V of somesort (probably knock-off), and the third a Grendizer (also probably a knock-off).

The third one looked like a Voltron figure to me. But I don't know Voltron at all to be honest, just had that look to it.

Nope. I've just hung around these guys long enough to pick up a few tidbits that are otherwise out of my periphery. Most of those classic super robots do nothing for me, but I certainly can identify a good chunk of them.

You kinda pick up these names if you hand around the toyark long enough. Even if you have no interest in the series :lol .

I can understand that, I too have learned somethings, but obviously not enough to know exactly what all transformers look like, do all transformers look the same in the U.S. and japan?

Well, they'd probably be instantly recognizable as being Transformers, but there are oftentimes differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions of the same figure, be it paint, colour, even occasional molding differences.

What do you mean by that? Its a bit hard to say. Generally you will find the japanese vversions with more paint apps compared to the american releases since they cater more to the collector than they do here.

ok, so it is not that they are hard to recognize, it is the fact that I am ignorant in the transformers field, just visited the toyark, pretty cool site, but I like this one better

The second figure is Combattler V, the third one is Grendaizer. Rather popular in our country when I was a kid, along with Voltes V, Mazinger Z, Getta Robot, etc.
