So I wanted to get into some fo the masterpiece line, and stumbled across the iGear coneheads. I've been reading a little bit about them in terms of there quality and if they are worth the money, and I've seen some mixed reviews but generally positive. I don't really have much love for Dirge, so I'm mainly looking at Thrust (my favorite) and Ramjet. Before I shell out the money, I just wanted to know if anyone here has had any QC problems and if you guys think they are worth it, thanks!

    To make things easier
Which one is your favorite of the three personally?
    Any QC issues?
Do you feel you got your money's worth?
    Do you recommend it/them?

    Thanks a ton!

    Out of mine:

Favorite is Dirge...the shade of blue is awesome

    No QC issues with mine

They're spendy, but they're third party items so they're going to be expensive. Also, for me personally I like the lesser known characters and since Takara is more concerned about releasing a thousand different versions of Optimus Prime, I had zero hope of there ever bing official ones so I was willing to pay extra for something I was realy interested in.

If you like the mold or the characters, yes I recommend them. If you really don't care about the characters I'd probably suggest you get one f the official Starscreams first and see how you like the mold.

Yea I really like what iGear is doing with their "masterpieces." I don't have the money to get all at once so I thought I would see what were the best and if they were really truly worth it.

you're the first to say the dirge is your favorite though! haha

I have all three of the iGear coneheads. They are gorgeous and worth the money IMHO.
I don't think they are that much more expensive than a real Masterpiece Takara release. And like I said, gorgeous. Dirge is definitely the best looking one.

I have all 3 Coneheads and think they are excellent, as good as, if not better in some areas than official versions of the mold.

I did have a minor issue with Elegy though, the following part was damaged,
    [IMG]

I contacted iGear 5-6 times in the initial fortnight after recieving Elegy to enquire whether it was possible for a replacement to be sent out but recieved no reply :banghead:

The part stays in place OK and it's not like the transformation or anything is affected but it's still an issue that shouldn't have been present on a newly arrived figure and the lack of response to my enquiries has made me reconsider all future plans to buy other iGear products.

My favorite one is Thrust although in all honesty there's very little to choose between them.

When I was looking into the figures I saw that those who had problems with their figures and contacted iGear, almost never got a response. It was pretty much concluded that if you were to buy their product to go from a secondary source like BBTS or TFsource, other places that carry the product because they quickly respond to those sorts of issues. That's prob what I will be do once I get them, but thanks for the heads up man. So these things do have a few issues! haha

Which part is that?? Hard to tell. Part of the canopy?

I'm very impressed with the coneheads, they really are as good as the real thing. Very nice wing designs in jet modes; makes it seem like you're not just buying 3 of the same mould.

I did reviews of Ramjet & Thrust on my blog if you're intersted:

Transformers Masterpiece: Ramjet (iGear PP03J) Review | Fallen Empire Toys

Transformers Masterpiece: Thrust (iGear PP03A) Review | Fallen Empire Toys

Never did get around to doing Dirge or Sunstorm, but they are both on par with the other two...and definitely order through a reseller like BBTS or TFSource.
Same here. My Ramjet was missing a thumb, and after about 5-6 emails I have yet to get a response. :/

    Ebay:
I have all three as well. With thrust being my favorite I ordered him first back in July. He was also my first third party release. I had my doubts at first , but it was all good when i finally got him an transformed him.I Love the whole design of the jet , the coloring is so nice! A couple of months later I ordered Dirge , then finally got around to getting Ramjet. No QC issues with any of them. I got them from tfsource as i was a little sketchy from ordering straight from igear. Anyways , hoped I helped you out some , and good luck!

Alright so don't order straight from iGear. Before this thread I actually had preordered the simplified version of PP-01 and the PP-05W (Ironhide) hopefully they come and no QC issues

This seems like an ok thread to ask - where does one buy these from now besides igear themselves or ebay? TF Source has removed ALL of the igear seekers.

Is buying from TFSOURCE on eBay out of the question?

Last i looked, they had the three of them listed separately, but sets seem to be all accounted for.

Mainly a general question, wasn't going to buy them for awhile, though it looks like I may need to move those plans ahead!

I bought all of mine thru TFsource's Ebay account.

It's alot quicker and you get Ebay bucks.

Sorry to necro this, but any idea if there will ever be a re-release of these? Any kind of rumors? Super super super late to the game. I have a bunch of stuff for trade in the sale section of the boards as well ~le sigh.

    Here's hoping!

They're not going to. At least, as far as I know. Last year, iGear was seriously considering it. They only offered it as a preorder for all 3. They did not offer them individually. The catch was, there had to be enough preorders for them to warrant making a second run. Unfortunately, there were not. So they canceled the second run.
