Don't mind him LN, Spoon is on a 15 year old's personal hate campaign under the delusion that he is "helping" protect the women of the world. I gotta give him credit for it being a nice bullshit excuse to try and get laid.

I want to chill out, but any time 'Twilight' is mentioned at school, there's always some bloody great row, all because I accidentally snigger. I am then told how everything I like is stupid for no good reason. I then go onto argument autopilot.

Trust me, I just want this whole Twilight fad to fade away. Every time I think it has, it comes back!

    It's freakin' killing me.
16 years old, thank you very much. :D

Oh, and hating Twilight at school is most definitely not the way to get laid.

See that is really what this is about. You've been told that your beloved Transformers are stupid (when you think they're cool), so you're out to get Twilight as the enemy of what you like. Get use to it kid, the longer you live, the more fads like these will pop up that you won't like or really understand.

I was completely baffled when the Harry Potter fad started. I just didn't get it and how dare J.K. Rowling use a character similiar to Gaimen's Tim Hunter...until I found out that Tim Hunter was a fimiliar archtype used in magicial stories.

Oh lordy, I'm a rubbish fan of Transformers.
I hate pretty much everything about them.
They're just a hobby that I keep secret from the rest of the world.

Now, Doctor Who on the other hand...

Yes, I am angry, justifiably so, that Twilight is so praised and adored, when great fiction like Doctor Who is so often ignored. That said, Doctor Who is becoming more popular.

But I'm learning just to walk away from the arguments, so there's hope.

I was debating on 15 or 16 judging by your pic. I know every year counts at your age lol.

I dunno, you could play up the cool anti-establishment rebel not like anything mainstream. Of course, this means that you make yourself a mystery.

Oh, and before Harry Potter. I remember being 8 or 9 and New Kids on the Block became HUGE. Just couldn't understand it. They were ruining Rock 'n' Roll.

Then came Hanson in high school. Oh the girls when nuts for them.

Not to mention the countless movies and tv shows. Like I said, books weren't very popular in the 80s or 90s.

And yeah, I like the New Doctor Who, but it is really isn't anything special IMO. Creative yes, and more entertaining than Twilight definitely. You'll eventually learn that girls don't really science fiction. Not to say there aren't exceptions as seen by all the lovely ladies here, but girls just don't "get" it.

    Sadly yes.
Or everyone will just say "Oh, look at that loner. What a douche!".
    I'd rather have friends.
Hell, I went nuts over Hanson.
Then I realised they were boys...
    :confused2
Yeah. But I still love the 90s.

You can still have friends and be a rebel. Being a rebel doesn't automathically mean emo or goth or whatever crap that is today.

Well, currently, I'm as close to being a rebel as I can get without being antisocial.

I know we have our obssessions and the tweens have theirs, I just get tired of all the Ed infatuation with the girls. Couldn't they have a lust over something less annoying, like...Hannah Montanna?

    Oh wait....

wasn't there some synopsis on how many times the girl commented on the vampire guy and his features?
in the first book it numbered into the hundreds. It was ridiculous.

Yeah, it's a ridiculously large number. The author actually mentions it in the last book, which while having much less "his skin was [blah], his eyes were [gag], etc" was a lot more horrible and MarySueTastical in it's own ways.

Hey, if you leave me alone in a room full of books long enough, I'll read them all, regardless of quality. I once read the entire E volume of the 1960s-70s version of the Encyclopedia Britannica.

This was made when I heard that some insane fangirl was comparing Peter Cullen to Edward Cullen.

I don't mind the series that much I just hate when fangirls go crazy over another franchise due to it having the word Twilight or any word relating to Twilight in it.
