My wife has become a HUGE fan of the Twilight series. She heard about it through people she works with and borrowed the books from them.

Now she is OBSESSED with it. I don't mind by any stretch of the imagination because I have my Transformers obsession and now she has something to obsess over.

I am not a fan of the Twilight series but, she gets so excited about it that she tells me a summary of each story/chapter when she gets done reading. I don't mind because I'm glad to see she's a fan of something.

She is excited about the DVD release and even has me going with her for a DVD release party etc.

My question is, are there any other "Twilight-heads" out there? Since my wife is new to this, are there any sites I should recommend to her?

Like i said, I know Twilight may be becoming somewhat cliche but, she really didn't have any obsessions like my Transformers obsession so I'm glad for it.

Edit: Maybe I should ask: Are there any other guys out there who have a wife/significant other who is a Twilight fan? How do you deal with it?

LOL......since I've been seeing so much of the books laying around the house lately, that is hilarious. I might have to make it the desktop on our computer so she sees it.

Then again, maybe not.....I have my obsession and she has hers. While she tolerates mine.......I should probably do the same and tolerate hers. Ah Well.

Seriously though, I've read most of the first book. Utterly crap from what I remember. I'd probably like it though if were 16 and female. You know, like, the target audience, like.

That is a great thread...THANKS!!! I've seen alot of comments about Twilight fans mainly being tweens and teens. Well not quite.....

My wife is in her early 20's and the women she works with are passing the Twilight books around. Some of her co-workers that are reading them are in their 30's, 40's and 50's and I believe one is even in her 60's.

I have the first book, bought it as a free gift when I bought a bunch of other books online, but I don't know if I can actually bring myself to read it. Least I know its there if I ever run out of comics, newspapers, magazines, computer manuals, backs of cereal boxes, etc, to read.

Adults read Harry Potter too, doesn't mean they're of any literary worth. While anything that gets kids reading is good, the fact adults have latched on to it is kinda depressing.

Yeah...I agree. i wasn't trying to prove literary worth though.....I was merely pointing out that apparently tweens and teens aren't the only ones reading these books.:thumbs2:

You mean it's good for trade-in value on decent literature at a used bookstore? I got rid of a LOT of rap-metal promo CDs this way in my radio days.

    Fixed.

I think this Stephen King quote sums twilight and it's auther up nicely "Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.".

I can get why females have gotten into the book. At its heart, Twilight is essentially a trashy romance novel. Women like those novels. My sixteen yr old cousin has gotten both her mom and grandmother hooked on them. If anything, I find the all the hate for this (and any other media) extremely funny. If it doesn't affect then why give a fuck beyond disliking.

Dude, I write better romance than that. And it includes giant robots. (Yes, I'm one of those fans.)

Twilight is Harlequin for teens, in essence.

It's even more awesome when you know GW Freak had a whole GAWTH > EMO real life troll fest over the whole subject of Twilight. And watched the damn thing anyway.
    You sparkle.
