I've heard a few people mention this. I had never heard of it. Just curious if there is a generally accepted position on this, or if its just an opinion thing.

I guess it's up to the fan themselves to decide this. I've personally never heard this. Remember these Seacons were supposed to be released as a store exclusive for the Energon line back in '04.

I use them for their original purpose on my Energon shelves. The official fiction has them as Classics. They could easily work as SG too.

The Seacons were never used in the SG fiction, so officially that's a no. However, if they were used, they almost certainly would be the Club version (just like Astrotrain was made as a Cybertron toy and then re-used by them as an SG toy).

The Club Seacons -were- used in a Classics text story where they were part of Bludgeon's crew (along with Universe Darkwing and Storm Cloud and the Wal-mart exclusive Crankcase from the first movie)

They can be repurposed but if they have faction symbols then that's an easy answer.

Yeah, I understand that they were never intended to officially be SG. I was just wondering if this was something that just one person came up with, or if it is something that is more widely known/accepted. I was more curious than anything else.

Doesn't really matter until the club uses it in a comic. 2011 Thundercracker is technically shattered glass, but he's right up on my 2010 G2 shelf where he was originally intended to go.

It is my understanding that they were intended to be released in Universe 1.0, but never made it to the shelves due to Hasbro not finding the right retailer for them. The club simply made their release possible. Universe 1.0 and the club's release of them are all prior to the Shattered Glass storyline, so I'd say "no".

I keep them with my "G2" Classics Megatron, the green tank, and Botcon 2010 Decepticons. They look GREAT! :D

I wonder what a Hero Megatron would look like with those Decepticons.

I think the only shattered glass fiction they were in was the April Fool's 2009 Botcon fake story with Fancy Grimlock.

i say they're too epic to be shattered glass, sorry but i never found shattered glass to be interesting, and it is kind'a a cliche, with everyone doing the "good is evil, and evil is good" story line.

personally i'm surprised they didn't do zombies yet... :lol

I guess this is a case where you can choose that.

I mean You could use The Black Robot Masters Star Saber and Victory Leo as SG Victory Saber.

They were supposed to be a Wal-Mart Exclusive. At the time, Wal-Mart had a bunch of Universe exclusives stacked that they requested to Hasbro to release the Seacons in Energon packaging instead. Wal-Mart backed out on obtaining the Seacons regardless.

Yeah, but the same thing goes for Club Astrotrain, who -was- used in SG. FunPub loves to repurpose toys to fit their text stories, especially their own. Apparently Process is right, the Club Seacons are featured in the SG April Fool's comic (which, I guess, is now officially part of the actual SG fiction?) so I guess my earlier assessment that they hadn't appeared in SG was false. I made that assessment based on the fact that the TFWiki didn't have them listed on the page for SG toys (which does feature all the other repurposed guys)

    Or can you...
