Has anybody heard if Hasbro will be releasing the G1 Seacons in the TF Classic line in some shape or form? They did dig out the molds for the Universe line but haven't used them as of yet as far as I know.

Last I remember hearing they were planning on releasing htem as a box set a a store exclusive, but no store wanted them. So, unless that's changed at all, I doubt we'll see them.

it would make sense to release them as a hasbro toy shop exclusive.

If there didn't release them for the Universe line, I'm not to sure that they will. *Crosses fingers*

Classics would be a good outlet for the Seacon set, and if they are having problems finding an exclusive home for them, then I definitely agree that HTS would be a good spot.

They know there is demand, we are always asking about them!

yeah, why not. soundwave was released with classic packaging.

plus with all the resources spent on movie toys all they gotta do is just package it.

They could even release them in their G1 colors and just straight up reissue the things.

Classics really would have been a great place to put these, BUT we're going on several years from when the molds were "ready to go" and they were looking for a retailer, so I'd imagine the whole thing has been officially shelved at this point.

One cannot help but hope, however, that with the amount of TF frenzy that will be coming this year, perhaps there would be a place for them somewhere. Personally I think HTS or the Club would be a great outlet, but I'm sure the production expenses cannot be recouped in a run of a few thousand or less. They really need a wide-scale retail release.

With the overwhelming response they got for them (Getting asked for them repeatedly at every convention since the cancellation) you'd think just shoehorning them, into a main line release would have been a no-brainer...

I was under the assumption that these were already produced and sitting in a warehouse somewhere, waiting for a retailer. Is that correct, or just a rumor?

If it's correct, I would imagine selling them ANYWHERE is better than them gathering dust.

I doubt that, somehow, as if they were, we'd have seen them through the club store by now. A run of them, however small, wouldn't be left gathering dust. They'd have been given a release just so Hasbro could recoup some costs, no matter how minimal.

It would've been nice if they'd done that instead of the rerelease of energon devestator

I'd love for these to get released some way, some how; if they bring back Classics after the movie (especially allowing for other size classes) I'd just about kill for these guys to be a part of it.

Personally, I do hope they see the light of day again. I mean, theoretically, they can be put as TFCC exclusives and fit into the new storyline or the one involving Cannonball, Astrotrain, and the rest of the pirate crew. But to be fair, they ideally should be released during the onslaught that is the TF movie merchandise period...*crosses fingers*
