Are the PCC's really so terrible?

They are pegwarming EVERYWHERE around here.
And only the first 2-3 waves at that.

I wanted a Smoulder at first but I just didn't warm to him in person.

But I can't believe how many there are that nobody wants.
Is it cost? Quality? Even the non-collectors seem to be passing on them.

    What's up?

I was always into the two-packs but now the five packs are starting to get discounts I'm more willing to bite on those. Just got the Bombshock and Combaticons set this morning for half-price.
I think it's perhaps the initial QC problems and cost of a Scout and four drones not feeling worth the asking price that might've kept a lot of people away. That and the concept of drones with no robot modes not being too popular with some.

I like them, I have two of each set, plus one of each of the individual bots with minicons. My only initial complaint with them was that the limbs don't transform, but I got over that rather quickly since every combiner I have stays in combiner mode, so it doesn't really matter all that much.

I love all my PCC's except for Double-Clutch. His effing arms fall off all the time and I can't get his torso to stay together, not to mention his torso MODE...

I like the PCCs that I've gotten so far. Not going to collect every single one of them, though, and for the most part the PCCs I own are the 2-packs; only have 2 of the 5-packs.

I'm into the 2 packs, Undertow takes the belt for being the best. Of the 5 pack, I have crankcase (but he really my scout nemesis prime) dinobots and autobot cars, can't remember his name...

Have you looked at them or closed your eyes as you passed them? Just look at them. They look like dog shit with vomit on top.

I have Huffer, Heavytread, Airhammer, Icepick, Sledge, the Combaticons and Grimstone.

The commanders, particularly Heavytread, aren't bad. Actually, HT is fast becoming my favorite tank-former. It'll be better once I get rid of the PCC attachment points.

As for the 5-packs, they were a waste of money. Aside from the lack of posability and general floppiness, they aren't solid feeling figures. Each of them fell from the shelf, and have been relegated to a bin, never to be displayed again.
I think I got them because of the hype, and lack of anything else to buy.

For me, the only redeeming quality is that they may look cool displayed with the upcoming Cyberverse stuff, as the drones are almost Legends-scale.

I think the main bot and the mini con are cool. The droids are terrible.

I like some of them. Most when combined have good articulation and the feet for the most part are good, just wish they did a better job with some of the 5 packs as far as the arms go. Some look like arms and have a bend and others just to too straight so I wish some of the arm pieces were made more like arms.

I want the constructicon type one but I like crankcase alot and they are 10 bucks at target and might get a second to mix the limbs better.

I have Leadfoot, Huffer and Grimstone + Dinobots. The QC is pretty sketchy across all of them, but the Dinobots set really sufferes from floppy legs so he keeps falling over or doing the splits. When something with feet that big can't stand up properly, you know something's gone wrong.
That said, the figures I do have certainly look very cool, just a bit cheap and simple for the price point. Plus the mini-cons for the single figures are utter shite.

PCC's are some of the best bots to fiddle with that have come along in a long time. Swapping out drones and mini's is a fun, mindless task.

The problem with the line is that the quality is all over the road. Some molds have both design and QC issues. Basically, read reviews (to avoid design issues) and cross your fingers a bit (for QC issues) and hope that you get a good copy.

    Same Here!

The best 5-packs are Constructicons and Dinobots. Heavy Tread, Undertow, Smolder, Ice Pick, Huffer, Sledge, and Leadfoot.

Let me direct you to the Power Core Combiner appreciation thread. Plenty of pictures too, so you can see for yourself.

Are they for everyone? Like movie figures, definitely no.

But are they so terrible, or even terrible at all? No, they aren't at all.

And they seem to sell pretty well here, I barely see some leftovers from wave 1 in shelves, and wave 2 dissappeared like hot bread (and considering Double Clutch was in that wave, that's saying something!). Kids love them. I'll admit though that everyone seems to hate Double Clutch, though he did have a running fix that did away with many of his problems.
