Can someone please straighten this out for me?
In Ds Game Optimus say that Megatron kills there Father so they are brother.
I dunno..how can a Cybertronian actually be someone's brother when they are all made by the AllSpark? The only way I guess to be someone's brother is if you have a split protoform, and thus twins..but hey! Alot of G1 characters had brothers..
Personally, I like to believe Prime is speaking not about family, but about fulfilling a role. They ruled Cybertron together, as equals? That would somehow make them brothers in a way. Also, the movie comic has him tell the other Autobots they are his 'true brothers'.
And at the end of the PS2 game game he says that something about them being bros but there is no mention in the movie. And the Game is not cannon.
Prime did say "You left me no choice, brother" as Megatron lay dying after Sam pushed the All-Spark into his chest... so they are brothers. But whether they are brothers in the sense they came from the same protoform or that they had thought of each other as brothers until Megatron turned corrupt, that I'm not certain.
As I recall, Roberto said it was left open to interpretation. The games and other fiction were based on earlier drafts of the script, so at some point the movie dialogue must have have their relationship clearer.
At the very end of the film, Prime apologizes to Megatron and addressed him as "brother" after Sam forced the All-Spark in his chest.
Also, my son has all of the children's books from the first film and the one book about Megatron and Prime refers to them as brothers. However, the same book also has one of the earlier versions of Megatron as well.
Well according to prequel comic, they co-ruled Cybertron (unlike the sequel's comics, which Orci was too busy to be involved in, the filmmakers approved Furman and Ryall's prequel to the first film).
Yes, they are indeed brothers.
This could be a phrase used not the same way we see it, as they both were cooperative rulers of Cybertron.
Maybe it's more of a Hulk Hogan "brother" usage, rather than a literal usage.
I'll go with this.
Or Desmond in Lost who calls everyone 'brother' (unless the big reveal is he actually is related to everyone ).
like humans, transformers are all brothers and sisters
When two sparks love each other VERY much...
I think it was meant more as a friendship "Hey we were awesome together once" brother, not blood (transmission fluid?) related brother.
hmmm, there seems to be conflicting sources. Whilst the prequel comics say they're brothers, the movie seems very vague about it. And then if you look at Defiance, Megatron seems to be Prime's superior, and there is nothing to suggest any sort of brotherlyness...
Maybe ROTF will clear Prime's comment up, since I think Bay only considers the films themselves to be cannon.
This is just in: Prime and Megatron are actually Jamaican, brodda.
That would rock so hard.
I would love if they were literally brothers, it would add such a sense of emotion and characterization. Not sure what the intent for the phrase is though.
Going by Defiance, their relationship seemed strained, and Megatron seems to just have a lust for power as part of his person. I don't know if they were ever close. But who knows. Interesting to speculate on.
In the first movie--Optimus said to megatron" you left me no choice brother" so i would say yes....of course...prime could have just been fucking with megatron as he died...but you think about it and decide what you want to believe...
I have a feeling the sequel might clear this up somewhat.
