Are Pretender Shells at all self-conscious?

    I'd have liked a story that explored what might happen if a Pretender TF's consciousness seeped into his shell and it started to take on a life of its own.

    Heh, if they hadn't already sorta done it with Prime and Hi-Q near the end of the Marvel G1 run I'd have said it could've been a perfect idea for killing Optimus again (if he'd become a Pretender beforehand) and then bringing him back by giving the newly conscious shell a proper TF body and it carrying on as if it had been Optimus all along. Thinking about it they also kinda did it with the copy of his mind on the floppy disc too. Man, Optimus was really unoriginal sometimes.

    yes. i suppose the wording is not exact but it's close enough for me.


    on topic- the toys were meant to be the transformers mass changing to
    human size. the autobots became human/nebulon so they could interact
    with the populous. the decepticons adapted it to just freak everyone out.
    the comics discarded the mass whatchamajig. in the comics the shells were
    just armor. controlled by the owners thoughts:2c: 
    at least... that's what i gather
