So I was at football practice today and the QB was calling cadences and I was in Right Guard and the snap count is told to us by a simple combination of (U.S.A)Sate= on 1 Nothing called= on 2 Country= on 3 And the QB said Georgia and the first thing that came in my mind was "What does he mean?". So I ask him "State or Country" and he responded with the snappy comment of "State ******, Georgia is not a country". So I called over my head coach (social teacher) and he proved him wrong. It kind of makes me sad that Americans don't even know that there's a country called Georgia.
Damn some kids are dumb as hell. Let me guess it was one of those "Wanna be gangster type" that walk around and push people around. Unlike me though. They won't mess with me. I put a stop to it.
Pitiful americans, they will never learn... and my school is infested with gangster-wannabes. The best way to get rid of them is just say something really smart. Then they are guarantied to stay away from you.
oh man normal people are sooooo dumb isnt it awesome being super smart lets use our brains to outsmart dem dumb jocks!!!!!!!!!
Two thoughts; 1. How come only teenagers ask this question? 2. Intelligence and Athlete...kinda like oil and water.
Of course there is a country Georgia! It was formerly a part of the now-dissolved Soviet Union. Look it up on Wikipedia. That kid is a damn moron...
There are alot of things that people don't know. And there are gonna be alot of things that you won't know in the years to come. It is sad that some people don't know about Geography. But to be honest if I hear the QB yell Georgia, I will more than likely think of the state. It is better to correct someone one on one, than making a scene in front of people.
That kid didn't know something. SOOO stupid. Honestly, I see much worse things everyday and sometimes a simple bit of information has just never had much importance to someones life or someone once knew and didn't care to remember on the spur of that moment. I am sure there's lots of things we all don't know that someone else finds to be common knowledge. I bet I knew all sorts of things in 5th grade that I pretty much won't remember since for the past 20 years I haven't needed to.
geography is not taught that heavily or at least wasn't when i was in school but still that QB was misinformed
Yeah, last time I ever learned geography was back in the 7th grade... back in 1998-1999. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't teach geography as much as they used to. But at least I knew there was a country called Georgia, after hearing about it in the news. That, and reading the latest edition of the World Almanac.
... I was never taught that there was a country named Georgia. Not saying I didn't know, just that they never talked about detailed geography of other countries.
Seychelles Nauru Mauritius Cote d'lvoire I never knew the words existed, much less are countries. I must be a moron
