Are kids finding the series too scary?

So I was thinking, TFP is a surprisingly dark and scary show at times. Hell, I've seen adults who get a little scared during some of the darker scenes (Predatory probably being the standout episode in that regard). So I was wondering, for those of you who watch the show with your kids, how are your little ones handling it? Do they find the show scary, or am I giving children too little credit?

Not really. Invader Zim has had some grimmer things in it.

My 13 year old sibling finds some parts scary, but they still like watching it every Saturday night.

Snark... I have a 7 yro nephew who loves the series and loves every minute...I think kids are exposed to a heck of a lot more than we saw on TV and in movies as kids...so they're okay....plus many of the video games are so violent they more immune--dare I say desensitized-- to it than we are. Plus censors and sponsors seem to equate robotic violence in a different category than if it were human on human violence. Go figure.

I constantly find myself arguing with my friends that MLP shouldn't have a dark series premier episode because its aimed at little girls not the adolescent age group.
YOU HEAR/READ ME BRYANT CHAU KRISSY EDORA AND CONNIE TANG?! STOP WATCHING MLP! ITS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU!

Beast Machines was darker. Flapjack and Billy and Mandy are more disturbing. I don't understand when people say this stuff is dark and scary. I've never felt scared watching this, at times suspense at most, but scared? Never.

FLAPJACK, on the other hand, DEAR GOD...

No... If Transformers Prime scares you, then you would get a heart attack watching real horror movies. And my 6 year old brother doesn't find it scary.... At all.

Any of these Transformers slash fics that people write here is still a better love story than twilight.

Invader Zim was always lighthearted though. A lot of stuff could fly over a little kid's head and they'd still be able to laugh at the silly things like Dib being made fun of or GIR acting stupid.

Think of it this way, Invader Zim is a lighthearted show with a mature filter over it (though I wouldn't exactly call Jhonen Vasquez mature), and Prime is pretty much the opposite.

That "Return the slab" episode of courage the cowardly dog scared me when I was a very little kid.

It's incredibly dark. But in comparison to today's shows, it's less so.

Yeah this and the one episode with the "Spirit of Harvest Moon" or whatever that THING was.

Prime hasn't scared me yet, only a few times did it bring forth a HOLY SHIT emotion.

No. My 9-year old and I watch it every week, and she has yet to be freaked out by anything.

If anything, she loves Miko to death, almost as much as she loves Arcee and Bumblebee.

And everytime she sees Knockout, she hollers DINKLEBERG!!!

I cannot recall any scary moments.
Perphaps, little children do not have enough knowlendge to know, that they should be scared and sad about certain episodes.
