I'm tooling around eBay to see what's the going rate on a few toys ... I run into these:

They're not all like this, are they? :X

Does anyone have any information on what other sets are desirable? Purchased these back in the day just for fun:

    Shockwave vs. Tankor
    Sky Lynx vs. Thunderblast
    Razorclaw vs. Steamhammer
    Scattorbrain vs. Monocle
    Payload vs. Ascentor
    Kobushi vs. Landslide
    Anti-Blaze vs. Thrust
    Scythe vs. Ramjet
    Checkpoint vs. Sunstorm
    Scrap Iron vs. Grindor
    Blastcharge vs. High Wire
    Backblast vs. Sureshock

These are the rarest by far. There were some people in the junkion exchange the other day talking about them in particular. Since they had less of a distribution run.

I was going to explain the factors that ebay prices have in transformers figures. But it just makes me sick to may stomach. Trust me when I say the other than the three sets mentioned, the other figures are'nt worth that much more than retail.

Yeah. The last wave was rarest of all. I lucked out and found a complete Wave 4 Perceptor for 5 bucks, but I'm still missing the Umbral Blaster. I have all the rest, though..

Can easily cost you some heavy coin.

I saw two instances of someone paying $45+ for one of those 2-packs at BotCon. These guys are on par with finding some of the older Japanese exlcusives in terms of difficulty to track down.

    Ebay:
Depends on how much you want them and how patient you are and whether you want them loose or carded but the prices for those three auctions was ridiculous.

For reference, the only wave 4 two-pack I saw at Botcon was on sell for $35 and it was still available the 3rd day.

In the past six months since I've been looking around on ebay for them these are the only auctions I've found with wave 3 or wave 4.

Pretty good prices, but too much for me since I already have all the others.

A little more expensive and once again I already had all the others.

Still kicking myself about losing this auction. I was actually working and forgot about it.

There in the set. If you have the patience to resell the extras and the cash to spare this would have been a very good deal.

    I had no idea.

I have doubles of each (thanks to a pre-order mistake a while back) just sitting around. Cool.

Holy Hetrodyne! Had no idea Mincons, especially domestic ones, could sell for so much. My Cybetron Minicons are still in package. Haven't got around to opening them yet. This will make it harder to open them.

Transformers lately seem to have a pretty high eBay value lately. Seems the days of getting a TF you didn't feel like getting the first time around (MIB/MOC) for cheap are over.

I usually passed on the minicon twopacks, but I did make a point of getting the "Seeker Saber" as I call it, which I thought was neat, and obviously their pack mates.
