And now he has destroyed the world.
Veronica was the trampy brunette, right?
Well, there goes his chances of a redhead-blonde-brunette 3some.
The rich one, yeah!
Oh god everything is ruined foreveerrrrr
-Oh wait is not-
*goes to play with his puppy
seriously? who cares?
who reads that?
Because someone was going to say it.
On the ISB there was a review of the issue that said Archie just saw what his future would be like if he married Veronica.
Veronica is the stuck up rich one.
I read that 1 comic store owner was so angry that Archie choosed Veronica that he sold his Archie #1 for $38,485 or some close number to that.
I have only ever read 2 Archie books. Archie meets the Punisher, and the Jughead special from the Buffalo Wing Festival last year in Buffalo NY.
Archie meets the Punisher is like the best comic ever.
I've heard that story, too. Kind of ridiculous, as it's pretty damn obvious that, even as a "possible future" storyline, it's going to end with the wedding called off and Archie still trying to pick between Betty and Veronica.
I remember Archie vs Punisher. They also did Archie meets TMNT. I used to love the Betty and Veronica comics as a kid. I wonder if this will actually go anywhere, but I'm expecting a dream ending or called off wedding too. Personally, I think he should have chosen Betty, but then I have to stick up for my fellow blonde.
remember for those who actually follow the book, just because he proposed doesn't mean they'll actually get married ( the whole "Main character realizes he wants the more down to earth woman instead, ie Betty" ploy or "imaginary story" plot device like what they used to use for the Silver Age Superman)
Archie's a smart, smart man. Marry Veronica, have some fun with her, wait a few years until Mr. Lodge dies (or give him some "end of life counseling") and then fool around with Betty on the side. Assuming Archie didn't sign a pre-nup, Veronica can't divorce him without giving up half of everything she owns.
Well played, Mr. Andrews. Well played.
Last set of numbers I saw, the digest titles do 50 to 100k copies depending on the book. Thats newsstand and subscriptions as well, not neckbeards buying from direct market ghettos.
Seriously,Archie comics might suck, but I have a lot of respect for them. They're the only American comic books that still sell in real stores to real people. Comics that people besides violence n' titty crazed ponytail Punisher shirt dudes enjoy being sold on actual newstands and checkout lanes to actual readers do a lot more to keep the industry alive than the stuff Marvel and DC release straight to the direct market.
I used to read alot of archie books when I was younger. Didn't have any comic stores in my area and they fed my need for comics straight from the grocert store checkout line.
This isn't the first time Archie has seen his "Future" and proposed or even married one of the girls. So I don't really see how this is a big deal. Sounds like it was just a slow news day.
