I loooove the Target coupon sale that's going on right now.
Picked up Sideswipe last Fri since I didn't have him yet. I've
heard poor things about this mold, but figured I'd give it a shot.

The thin legs are what clued me in to making this an Arcee
custom. That, and the convertible alt-mode.

Used a GI Joe Scarlett head (which I previously customized
but botched) for her head, plus some sculpt for the "hair".

The rest is paint, which is still VERY MUCH A WIP (durn white).
What's cool with this mode is that she'll have the boosters
that come out of her back like the Palisades statue, but these
also hold her blasters via the mechtech ports. Her blasters
came from ROTF Brawn. Plus, she'll have silver 'swords' like
    her comic book version.

The shoulders are a little wide but some women's fashion is
like that. Nothing's perfect, I guess.

Anyways, have a look, and leave a comment if you like!

EDIT: more paint, and added alt mode pics HERE

EDIT: major mods to the shoulders, wheels, and blades HERE

I like the color choice and paint job. My only critique I can make is that in my opinion the head looks a little small compared to the body. I love the custom though, I never would have thought of doing Arcee from that mold.

That is quite clever, I may just have to do this as well!

I just question if a G1 style head works for this. It looks ok, but, almost feels out of place.

I agree to an extent Spoiler, while this one might seem a bit out of place, the TFTM/ROTF head would be even more so out of place. To me this looks like something out of the IDW Transformers comic. I am very curious to see how the Polaris head upgrade would fit on this, will take a peek when I get home on mine.

I'm sorry, I like the idea but I'm not sold on this mould as Arcee, the shoulders are far too broad, which then in turn kills any feminine feel in the chest area. If you could work out a mod to bring the shoulders closer together I think it would work much better. The paint work and colour choice is top notch though.

Shoulder is a bit wide for Arcee but I think it works. Very nice. Agreed on those coupons. I got some customs coming just because of them.

It's actually about the same size as DOTM Sideswipes original head,
not sayin' that that was right, though.

Bingo! More or less what I was going for, like what if IDW created a G1 Arcee design (that wasn't totally mental).

Thanks! I agree, the shoulders are broader than I'd like, but I'm afraid of ruining it now if I try to mod it. I would probably swing the shoulders up vs in.

    Me too!

Thanks for the comments! And one more thought on those
shoulders --- google "80s poofy shoulders" and view the
    images :)

Been thinking about the shoulder issue honestly, you might try painting pink on the very outside of the shoulder to the circle molding to make the white portion of the arm look thinner optically. just a thought :)

You won't be able to transform her w/o popping the head off
or modifying the chest somehow. Even with the head I'm using,
I have to turn her head to the side (as shown in the pics) to
    transform her.

Actually, looking at her again, I'm liking this more and more,
all due respect to the crits and help. I did do the color mod on
the shoulders, good idea. Here's more photos incl. first one of
    alt mode:

Yeah unfortunately that seems to be a growing trend with my mods lol i have a sidearm sideswipe with the same problem (head too big to transform) I guess she'll be a static bot when I finish her :)  Glad you liked the shoulder idea!

Looks great, may I suggest 2 things?:
1.movable head visor, due to the missing windshield (you don't want flies in her pretty little eyes ;) )
2.swap the wheels (try to find a more feminine type of rims)

This "minor/repaint" is turning into more of a heavy/scratch..
I tried modifying the shoulder supports to bring the arms in a bit,
took the wheels and blades off so that she can still
    transform.
