So, after seeing a few works up here, I decided to make one myself. Specifically inspired by DavidLoPan, as he showed you didn't have to make a backpack mod to make a really good Arcee. :)  Thought I'd intro this one since I've gotten the main paintwork done. (EDIT): got the main body pretty much done. Still having to do some final touch-ups, sand and repaint where parts scrape, and I forgot I wanted to paint the lower arms pink. Not entirely convinced that I'll do the more femme-hands, but I'm still not ruling the idea out just yet.

However, one thing I'm in need of is Arcee's head. I'm trying to find a Myclone Arcee, but not having any luck. The couple I've found on ebay are being sold in whole groups for way too much money. Does anyone out there either have one, or could make one from a casting? Or, would someone be willing to lend me one so that I could cast one myself? (I've got the stuff for it, just not the head itself)

I'll post more progress pictures as I start putting the details on.

Nice!! I really like the paints, just dead on. Can't wait for a bot mode pic!! Honestly, I wouldn't recommend Myclone Arcee, her features are too toony and not feminine enough. Just my two cents! However, if you're in a need for her head, run it by yourreflection on his thread http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/266590-yrs-robot-heads-corner.html or visit his site at kidbash - Home! I think there's enough want for Arcee for him to consider her! Good luck!!

Thanks, I'll give him a try.

I was actually planning on modding the head and adding a little bit more helmet on the side. It is a little narrow, but I've got ideas. Still, I'll see what YR has to offer. :)

Very nice so far, hadn't seen this done yet, but the mold seems to scream for it.

just don't let her die quickly in the comics

Yeah, this is a great bash, and David lo Pan's was a great inspirational piece to draw from. Any weapons ideas? I've always loved the Dual Pistols like G1.

Thanks! I'm keeping the hands on mine--they don't bother me all so much. But I was wanting dual pistols myself--and those look kick-ass! I'm going to have to pick some up. :)

    Ebay:
The hands are articulated female hands that,
    by the miracle of luck,
are just the right size for animated blurr.

I sincerely believe articulated hands will give
your arcee more expression during the comic.

Afterall, you will have to do some heavy cutting
and modding to get those guns into the default hands.

Yeah, I'll have to think about it. I've already painted up those parts, but it wouldn't be hard to swap the hands out. I just don't care much for articulated hands as they are always extremely loose. And modding the guns shouldn't be too hard. At the very least, I can use them for someone else and find a different set of pistols for Arcee.

    I'll leave the option open.

Got some updates! The toy isn't "assembled" yet, just clipped together by its pegs and connector parts. Still have to paint some areas by hand (side view mirrors are evident, plus robot parts and touch-ups), clean up some paint residue here and there, plus grind some of the pegs down and repaint so it all fits without scratching stuff up. Oh, and a coat of Pledge Future once it's done. :)

Anyway, you can see what she'll look like in one form. I'm liking the regular clear-blue plastic. I'll be sure to update once I get everything cleaned up and assembled.

I haven't started stripping the paint on animated blurr,
so the windshield was clear blue all along?
how did you remove the windshield paint?
    isopropyl alcohol?

    Thanks!

Yes, but I would recommend the 70% for the windshield. I used the 91% and it fogged a little bit.

It's sad that they painted it--there are some pretty cool tech-lines in the windshield underneath. But ah well, it's out in the open now. :)

Ever considered painting the wheels white?
The black wheels really look out of place.
White wheels will look better in robot mode too.

Pun, I may have to steal your idea for this! That is, unless they release the Animated Arcee soon...

I'll be leaving the wheels black, though I did add white trim on the back tires (plan to do the same from the fronts) As for the robot mode, the black tires would create WAY too much white, which you can see in the new image I updated. The black parts all around help to break things up a bit. I think she looks fine this way.

Funny thing, I plan to repaint THAT Arcee into another femme character. I'd need a different head for her, and I don't have any particular character in mind. I'm sure to come up with something. In any case, I hope you make one of these too--the mold really works for Arcee. :)

Anyway, added some new shots. Need to paint the lower arms in pink and retouch some of the parts again. And, I still need a head. Yourreflection mentioned to me that he's making a Voyager-class Arcee head and will be making a deluxe to match. I'll have to wait and see how his turns out, as that may solve my dilemma. :)
