Wow, that's some attention to detail. Lockdown is a decent figure if you can separate toy from movie.
Seems I never posted here after I picked up Lockdown. There are a lot of mitigating circumstances, starting with the fact that I got him for free; I had a rewards coupon and a gift card so zero cost. Then, the fact that I don't really care about the movie franchise or its fiction. So, ignoring this as a Lockdown and repurposing as someone else (I still haven't decided on who yet, Deaths Head is a possibility, as is someone new, a Terminator style character), the issues that bog the toy down are substantially lessened. So for me, Lockdown isn't a bad toy.
I may have mentioned this before but I just think of him as movieverse Vehicon. Generic Decepticon car troop. I think that works a lot better for him than making him the primary villain. Also, I'm not into troopbuilding, but if I was, he'd make a great troopbuilder with the different gun configurations. Moreso if you're willing to mod the gun for some and not others.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Unfortunately they only painted the back wheels. It doesn't look like the front wheels have the same molded detail...
My Lockdown had to be return back to the store, the locking piece would not snap or click anymore, and I haven't see another since. Lockdown should have been either a Human Alliance or voyager size figure. The deluxe is OK is size for bot mode, the car mode is pretty cool!
New colors make him look a little better. "There is only one way you live. Tell me where Optimus Prime is!"
I got this guy for $10 and I still feel like I overpaid. God damn, it's just... what went wrong? How could they have thought arms and legs that both run the length of the car mode woud've NOT resulted in a deformed robot mode? And honestly, this is unsalvagably bad. I thought "fuck it, for ten bucks I can probably lengthen the torso enough." But no. The pin hinge where the waist meets the chest is unreachable by the stupid headlight fenders that shoudn't even be there. Plus, the legs woud still be scrawny with the very stupid move of putting the tires on the hips. And the legs didn't need to be scrawny. Literally using almost the same transformation I can see how if the feet folded over the lower legs instead of just pointing down, you could've gotten longer and thicker legs. Also, he's fucking small. Even Scoop, who's got mass relocated to Target Master partners, is bigger and more substancial. With the outdated design and small size plus clipon wheels, it's like he was designed at the very bottom of the recesssion and just sat on until now. Shambles. On the plus side, the at mode is sick, the face sculpt isn't nearly as bad as I thought (the eyes look so weird because the blue is not just the eyes, but the eyelids as well) and despite it having garbage clipon wheels, they at least spin pretty well. I'd be less upset if this figure wasn't the ONLY Generations Lockdown. What a waste of a great character design. EDIT: Yeah, I'm taking this thing back.
yeah i'm slowly hating this guy more and more as time goes on. he's always been a bad toy but before at least he was a fun toy too. now the clip on wheels, size and shitty posability stick out way too much to me.
Nah that's dumb. I'll lose my $10 plus whatever shipping takes and accomplish nothing in the process. I'll just take it back and hope the restocked Tankor or something.
More like deluxe class beatdown, which is what you're going to get for telling me the same joke twice. Hope you've enjoyed sitting down because it's going to be a LONG time before you can experience it again... RMRMRMRMRMRMRMRMRM
No dad not again. Seriously though. Fuck this toy, and and even bigger fuck to the loser who started the rumor of a Human Alliance and voyager Lockdown.
god, if we got a fuckin HA lockdown that matched the movie model... ugh. i'd trade a million HA mudflaps for that.
Voayger/HA Lockdown UUUNNNFF. We could've gotten a decent Deluxe for him if they had done anything besides copy Roadbuster's transformation out of everybody they could've copied. Hell, why didn't they draw inpiration from the other Lockdowns? A lot of very dumb decisions are imprinted into this toy's design. The only decent thing, again, is the alt mode. But fuck buyign a TF just for a halfway-decent lambo alt. I'm just gonna buy an Aventador model and pretend it's Inactionmaster Lockdown.
to be honest? in a way the whole not-copying-ROTF/Ani Lockdown thing is kinda okay, if only because he misses the lockdown mark in a bunch of other ways too. i mean... a lambo? making the normally spikey, death race-style muscle car into a standard aventador really shows how much of a car commercial these movies seem to be. also not being super lockdowny and more generic makes it easier for me to turn it into breakdown so hey lol
