As the thread says I'm looking for a place in LA or Orange County that you know sells the High Quality KOs (Tapes, Mirage ect). I'm heading home for the first time since Botcon 04 and I don't know where to look.

    hey man,

the only store-like place to get those would be the frank and sons show in the city of industry.

    every Wednesday and Saturday:

    http://www.fs-collectibles.com/

they aren't cheap though, they go for about ebay prices....but no shipping charges and you can haggle if you are buying a lot.

edit....spiritofcybertron wholesales to those guys and others so if you are buying a lot maybe you can work out a deal with him and meet him at the show.

Be careful, though, there are a lot of thieves/scalpers there that will try to fcuk with you. If you're into Gundam models you can get some for cheap from the Chinese ladies. It's also a good place to find rare WCW/WWF tapes.

I'll look into that, I'm familiar with places like that so I know what to expect going in (Grew up out there), but thanks for the warning. Hmmm... Might just get a wrestling vid or too as well.

Ah! Awesome! Thanks for that website link! My friend took me there once. And yeah, they got a lot of the KOs, and yes for about ebay prices, but you can often haggle with them.

You will definitely want to check out "Little Tokyo" and the "Toy District" of Los Angeles. One store that is cool is:
    Character Inn
    (213) 680-3344
    301 E 4th St
    Los Angeles
They sell lots of transforming robot type stuff and KOs. I havn't been there in a while though so I don't know if they would have Mirage or the tapes. But I'm sure one of the other shops in that vicinity would have some cool stuff braddah.

yeah! character is awesome..none of the KO stuff your looking for but plenty of licensed Korean stuff for good prices.

if you do end up in toy district lots of little shops for "cheap" china KOs

Is Character Inn that store inside the small shopping mall in Little Tokyo? If not, you'll have to snake around the shops and go east of that fountain/plaza thing down into what looks like a parking lot but is actually a place full of boutiques. There are a ton of toys in there, but only a few TFs.

It's not in a mall, it's on the corner of a neighborhood full of shops called the 'toy district.' But that mall is nearby.

God I haven't been there in a while now. Used to go all the time, now..not so much. The last few years I've been maybe 3 times or so.

Gotta go sometime when I have some spare cash though, always fun to just look around and there is always SOMETHING worth picking up. Lot's of scalping though, sadly.

Frank and Sons is always good to get a look at whats new.... general rule is never buy the 1st thing you see because you might find another seller that's cheaper...

I was in Chinatown last weekend and they had a pretty high quality KO Cybertron Prime....

i have it fitted with my wingsaber and it looks great.
