nope I love my cw ultra magnus. I gave him some g1 shoulder missles and now hes a great figure and so g1ish. winner for me at least.

 

Towards me? Because I'm a Diaclone freak, and want my Diaclone goodness to be as close as possible. It's why I have zero interest in that CW blue Bluestreak from the club, but would snap up a Uni 2.0 mold blue Bluestreak in a heartbeat

Actually, if the Titan Master was the head for the white cab part, and then then trailer armored up Magnus - as it should - with a PMOP type helmet to flip over the Titan Master to make it Ultra Magnus, then yes.

 

We just got the perfect CHUG Ultra Magnus last year. Why would Hasbro want to make a TitanMaster version of a lesser-known character that has already had a release in the past 12 months?

 

As Delta Magnus, a straight up repaint would be fin. they could include the legends class optimus plus roller as the red buggy and optimus as a black cab. Minimus Ambus cold be the yellow diaclone pilot.

 

Blue cab, but I see what you're saying. I'm saying that Powered Buggy from Minimus is more than enough.

 

Ultra Magnus isn't a lesser known character. He's been a staple in Transformers media. G1, RiD, Animated, Prime, DW, IDW...all feature Ultra Magnus. He may not be Optimus Prime, but he's always portrayed as Mr. Big Deal.

Also, Hasbro isn't shy from repainting him as himself (in Roadbuster's colors?) within months of the prior release.

 

I'd really rather not have repeats of characters we just recently got when there are still a bunch of actual headmaster (or powermaster) characters who don't have new toys

Ultra Magnus has always had a big role in Transformers fiction. But we all know, that unless a character is named Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, or Bumblebee, they don't get new releases within such of a short span.
Plus, most kids don't know who Ultra Magnus is.

 

Yeah, I do. Some people would obviously buy it, but if it's a minor retool of CW Ultra Magnus, and still looks like CW Ultra Magnus but with a less accurate head, I don't see either the crowd that didn't like the original and didn't buy it, or the crowd that bought the figure originally and were satisfied with it wanting it.

I just think it would be a waste of a leader slot and would shelf warm like crazy, especially at the $45 price tag.

And we're already getting Magnus Prime/ Delta Magnus/ Super Ginrai/ Whatever out of either him or the PMOP retool, and that makes three uses of one mold in one line.

 

The only way I can see a TR Ultra Magnus happening is that they repaint the TR G2 Optimus into G2 Ultra Magnus but other then that I see no need for one since he already got the perfect update some time ago not to mention that in a way we're already getting that in the form of Magnus Prime the rumored Powered Convoy repaint of TR PM OP.

 

Except that's not true at all. There's been multiple Ultra Magnus releases in multiple years. Even last year, we had at least two if not more. It's like you completely ignored my post where Hasbro released a repaint of the exact same leader-class toy as the exact same character within a few months of each other.

 

In BotCon or SDCC exclusive numbers, no...in retail release numbers, yes.

Yeah, we know about that. I'd prefer it use the prior UM tooling though. But as long as it looks like Ultra Magnus's face and helmet, I'd feel like it's close enough to Powered Convoy. But the fact it's "Delta Prime" instead of "Delta Magnus" troubles me that it won't be enough of one or the other.

 

Worst case scenario I have to paint some parts, or I simply won't buy the damn thing.
