He just showed up today & from talking to the neighborhood he was at, he's been running around loose for a week
It has some pit in it, and no one around here will take him. He's so damn friendly, and loves kids. Gave him a bath in the kids pool, but can't bring him inside. Well I could, but not around a 2yr old, no way. Plus we'll get fined or evicted

I wont turn him in to the humane society or any shelters because they'll probably put him down.

He's also obedient, and trained, knows how to sit and roll over. And does'nt flinch If I move my hand towards him, so dont think he was ever beaten.
He's howling outside my door right now, poor thing

Someone else said they had him for a week and put some newspaper ads out and had him checked for rabies. He's clean, but no one will step up.
Have him tied up at the moment so he does'nt get hit by a car, but I dont like tying dogs, and i need to let him go somehow.

Also called all the local animal rescue places, but no good. No one wants a pit I guess

Any ideas? Id love to keep him, but we cant , he's too big to be a house dog, and we don't have an enclosed yard. Plus our apt's dont allow dogs that big.Plus I have no family here so I can't ditch him in mom's backyard :lol
Until then Ill just keep feeding him and calling around.

    Named him Zeppelin for now

    Thanks

The dog is cute. Try giving him to those Ninjas I sent after you. I shouldn't have said that.

See if you can find a humane or no kill shelter.

This is really off topic, but CM, do you still have those tiny turtles?

Those are mostly impossible to get animals into they're so packed full. I've had a friend try hard as possible to get their dog into a no kill shelter cause they couldn't find a home for her and couldn't keep her anymore without luck.

He looks to be in good shape, whoever owned him before took good care of him. Was he scanned for a microchip? Check local vets to see if they have medical records for a similar looking dog, you could find out the owner that way.

CM, I'll call my mom later, she is a major bleeding heart for pit bulls and pit mixes, maybe she can help.

Some places have 'no Pit' laws or insta-kill rules for pits where even if he is a great dog they can't attempt to find a new home for them.

I've got a black lab/ pitt bull mix. We couldn't keep her at the new place, so we gave her to my inlaws until we have enough money for a house of our own.

yeah try and find a local no kill shelter. that is so much better then just assuming that when ya drop a dog off its gone. chances are if its being friendly and looks pretty healthy its someones family pet...put flyers up with pics and see if there is any interest of response..:)

i know if i ever lost my baby pompom i would die
