Just wondering. If you use and what kinda turnaround times you're getting. I'm about to change to Blockbusters total access. It takes WAY too long to get my movies from Netflix. One to two days my ass. Anyone else?

Never tried them but thought about joining a few times. Wont do it if they're as slow as you say though, there's cheapo rental stores around every corner here.

To give examples, I sent back 2 movies on Dec. 22, didn't get replacements until Jan. 5th. Sent the two that I got on the 5th back on the 8th, directly from the PO, and they say they haven't even gotten them yet, much less sent me anymore. I checked my history, and my turnaround time is running about an 11 day average, which sure as hell isn't what they say in their commercials. My queue now shows they are shipping my next 2 since I reported a problem with the one's I sent Monday. Blockbuster is looking better and better.

I usually average the 4 day turn around, but occasionally (such as this week) they still haven't gotten some movies I sent last Saturday. Usually when this happens I just go mark them lost in the mail and get my next discs sent to me. Most of the time they then MIRACULOUSLY appear at Netflix that day and are marked unlost.

Location is definitely a factor. Living in the Los Angeles area relatively near a Netflix shipping center seems to have helped my membership out. I've been a member for a few years now and though I have scaled back my membership to the one-out-at-a-time plan, I can still get a turnaround of a day or two and average 7 movies a month.

If you have problems, take a look at www.hackingnetflix.com for some others' stories. "Throttling" is a reality and the lawsuit hasn't yet solved the problem.

If you're further away from their shipping plant or whatever they call it then it may take longer. I'm only like an hour away from mine, so mine is like a 1-2 day wait for new dvds. I've never had a problem with them. Ive even bought a few dvds from them for cheap too and those came out great.

Yeah! We send ours out and usually have another one the next day or day after. No more than two days.

Have had Netflix for about 4 years now. No complaints, the occasional broken/scratched disc, but otherwise everything's peachy. I've lived in bigger cities though, so maybe it's your location that's screwing you over.

For those that are saying it's my location, I'm about 30 minutes from J3. They still don't show receiving the ones I shipped the 8th. Come payment time I think I'm going to BB. I'm glad others are happy with them, and I'm sure I'd be happy if I could get more than 6 movies a month with a 2 at a time package.

I've used Netflix almost since the beginning and the only problems I ever had was with postal employees stealing my movies when I live in a not-so-nice area of town. Since I bought and house in a nice neighborhood, I've never lost a single movie.

Turn around time is about 2-3 days normally, but it can take 5 or so on rare occasions.

Well shit, after marking those 3 missing my account was just put on hold and I need to call them now. Probably because of those 3 discs that got lost over the last 2 months that never even arrived here. There were actually 4, but 1 of them did show up and was returned. But yeah, those 3 actually missing, and the 3 I marked lost en route to them seems to have put a hold on my account. I guess I'll know for sure when I can call later, but if that's the case I guess I won't be able to do this little mark them lost after a week anymore with those 3 that actually were?

Yeah, location matters, but if you're that close to someone who average 4 days I have no explanation. I'm consistently at 3 days turnaround, but I'm in Atlanta, less than 45 minutes south of a distribution center.

I thought about trying BB for the convenience of brick and mortar when I want it, but Netflix sent me movies in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that basically bought all the customer loyalty I have.

I think there site say somethign about makring them lost x amount of times before they start checking your account out to make sure its not being stolen to the best of there knowledge.

Oh yeah, I know that. They've just never actually marked it though. It was pretty easy to reset though, customer service was just like "Yeah, you're over the limit here, let me reset it for you. Should be fixed within 24 hours." Didn't even ask about it. Which left me wondering what was the point? Anyway, like I said though, those 3 that never arrived here are obviously going to stay on there now though; so I guess I won't be able to mark them after a week being sent as much as I used to. Lest I continually go over the limit and have to keep resetting.

I do occasionally get a 3 day turnaround. It's odd really, when I first signed back up last year I experimented where I'd send them from and found my house took the longest to get to them, and a Post Office near where I work was the best. A couple months later it started taking over a week from there, but everything sent from home was good. Anymore its 2 days for them to get, and usually 2 days to get a new one (though that's even sometimes 3)... but every couple months or so I get this where it takes them over a week to get something (or not scan it in). =\
