An obscure toyline from the 80s. The line consisted of soft rubber monsters or humanoids that you could tear apart and put back together. A friend of mine had one, and we were both pretty amazed at how well it seemed to work. Of course, another friend of ours got a bit over excited and tore the thing into a SHITLOAD of little pieces...dude was never right again. Strange stuff for sure.
My cousin had that, came with a mountain with a cage on top or something like that......thing never worked right for us, tear the arm off put it back, sure it stuck but it was off-center forevermore
yeah, we had the same problem, especially after Mr. Fixit decided to go all Yan Can Cook on him. He looked like a stack of gummy legos after that.
@fschuler @Baltan @Johnny1378 Apologies for dusting off an old thread, but this is big news: Toyfinity Launches New Manglors Toy Line
Thanks for the reminder! I saw Toyfinity's post on Instagram and checked their page earlier today, but it didn't look like they had the listings live yet. Part of me was hoping for slimy rubber figures you can tear apart...haha... But, these are far more practical and durable. And holy necro-thread, Batman...I just noticed how long ago I started this thread...lol...
I remember having a few back in the day. It did not work as advertised and I ripped the arm off Manglodemon and it stuck very briefly on the other one then fell off. It never fit back together and the toy was ruined. They did work better as a wacky wall crawler. It’s great to finally see them come to fruition. Dr. Kent got this waaaaay back in the day when he got Ideal licenses along with Robo Force, Star Team, Rocks & Bugs & Things aka Mordles. Glyos is the best thing for them as you will be able to swap parts. With all the stuff in the library you could actually make mechanical things or add guns to their arms. That said, I’m usually pretty plugged in to Glyos happenings and I just saw this launched. Pretty much everything’s sold out now.
Manglord and Primitive Manglor are already gone, I'm not starting out a line where I already missed half the initial releases but glad to see the Manglor license finally see life as more than just the egg molds!
I remember these! One year, when I was little, I got Manglord for Christmas. I was pretty small and I remember confusing it with Swamp Thing (I think I had seen the old Wes Craven Swamp Thing movie, and thought the toy looked just like the guy in the movie). At any rate, I remember trying the “tear it apart and put it back together good as new,” feature. It sort of went back together, but definitely not good as new. Lol
By the time I checked it last night the Manglord was already sold out…and that’s really the only one I would want. Bummer…. Not that I need to be starting any new toy lines…
Bummer. I would have dabbled in the line if the other two weren't sold out. I wonder how many the ordered/made.
Good question. For their sake, I’m happy there appears to be enough interest for them to sell through.
It’s kind of the thing that happens whenever a new Glyos mold is introduced, they sell out quickly. People have been starved for Mordles for a while so that might explain them. Dr Kent has already noted the feedback on Manglord selling out and said it was planned to bring him back in the future. Some of the Robo Force mains were brought back several times for demand like Maxx, Hund-dred, Sentinel and Nazgar. There’s also been a few releases of the Knight of Darkness too.
^ Ugh, that's true, unlike the main Glyos line, Kent has made a habit of keeping stuff available! I don't need a reason to change my mind though, I was long-ago burnt out on Glyos and did quite promptly after the first couple of Mighty Maniax releases.
Shit!!!! I didn’t see this til 5 mins ago. Dr Kent is running a preorder for May for the standard Manglord and a new variant plus new colour Mordles. It’s only open til midnight est tonight. I was getting ready for another Glyos sale and saw this on discord. It’s been running all week….
