Gen Ray was brought in to lead the team after hawk was Paralised, G.I. Joe Colton replaced him in the new series, No CC, it was Zartan posing as Cobra Commander, Wraith is a new player, a Merc working for Destro that is a bad mother.

I read the first couple of issues of America's Elite and gave up. The franchise took a downward spin after they got rid of Jerwa, and the art on AE has been very subpar.

I liked the series before AE. AE is still decent but not as good as before. Jerwa and Seeley were a fantastic team.

I have the whole run of the the previous G.I. Joe series(the one that started at Image and moved to Devils Due). I picked up an issue or two of AE and it just didn't appeal to me. I'm not quite sure why. It just didn't quite feel like G.I. Joe I guess. I didn't like the art. I thought it was too dark for G.I. Joe, which IMO is supposed to be fun. I might flip through a trade of AE sometime and see if my opinion has changed. I do miss having a G.I. Joe comic to read every month.

I think I quit reading at issue 27 ... Whenever it was that Snakeeyes took on Sei-Tin after getting blasted in the chest with a grenade a few issues previously

Well what currently happened, well looks like Storm Shadow is now the #1 Ninja if what I saw is what I think. Also, if I was him, I'd hate to tell Scarlett.

    ^^^

The AE storyline thus far is tolerable at best...with the art, however, it got dropped from the buy list.

Snake-Eyes: Declassified was really enjoyable, though. Jerwa's last hurrah, good art, fleshing out the better parts of the Snake-Eyes origin story scattered about the Marvel run. Good stuff...and possibly the last Joe comics for a while.

I just thought I'd point out that if you want to see Cobra Commander's face, read Snake-Eyes: Declassified. :D
