Wouldn't really matter when it's brought up, I would guess that they key component is announcing intent to mold the wings from the Botcon version. Best bet is going to be molding someone else's set of wings and making no mention of what they're for, sort of like how that one guy sells "a breaker of trails head for your robot changer" :D

Well at least I'm glad to see someone at Hasbro looks at the boards.

To the Hasbro brass: Would I get in trouble is I molded my custom wings?

I feel like I'm asking the gentlemen on Price is Right if I have any numbers right.

i'm not surprised here at all. there was an open announcement made to reproduce a current hasbro property, of course there would be trouble.

now, if you reproduced scratch built custom wings, there you should have no issues.

Hasbro if you're reading this, you suck for allowing the remaining Seekers to be exclusives. :D

wow, it never even occurred to me that repro'ing the wings might be something that would result in a c+d order. although I fully understand and wouldn't want to see anyone get into trouble. however, lets see what we can do about some of the kitbasher wings getting casted, eh?

    Thats lame, really really lame,

Was it from Hasbro or the guys putting on Botcon? The seem to have more to lose than Hasbro would.

Yeah, I was sort of waiting for something like this to happen. But on the other hand, it's true if you scratchbuilt and cast some turbine adorned wings... y'know... just because, and then decided to sell them... well that would be an entirely different story. :)

No matter what, we're gonna see these figures kitbashed. No question.

Ok guys, no need in badmouthing Hasbro or the club. They gotta protect their investment. Am I disappointed that I can't make them? Yes. Thing is, they are protected by copyright, so I fully understand.

I still see a need to make wings as there are people that want a Thrust but can't afford the Botcon set. I may try to make a set of my own and then cast them. It really depends though. If Boggs6ft7 casts his, then I'll bow out. No need to compete. It's not about profit, it's about helping the fans.

I just wonder if the same e-mail would have been sent out if the timing were different. I mean, the set isn't even released yet. Wasn't the stance that as long as whole toys weren't reproduced that not much would have been said? I was thinking that was the case (but could be wrong).

    Why?

Well, just saw about the C&D letter. That sucks. Not changing anything for me though, I'm still not giving FP any more of my money. I'll just repaint a Ramjet, and wait for somebody to cast some wings.
    Lame.

Im thinking that too. I'm just going to do a straight repaint of ramjet, then wait for a solution to fall into place.

the reason for the C&D is that one of the strongest appeals to this year's exclusives set is that there's not only a Thrust, but that he has properly remolded wings.

Right, I think that goes without saying. What I am saying is that perhaps if the set had been released and been out for a little while (i.e. FP not selling them anymore), then maybe the C&D would have not came so promptly at least.

Well as we've seen there's a copyright issue with it, not surprising since the initial "Thrust" of the thread (sorry) was talk of direct reproduction of parts of a toy created by Hasbro and Fun Pub, itself a copyrighted entity.

I kinda doubt there's gonna be a big reaction from those who bought the set, (there's always somebody, but probably not a strong negative reaction from many) because even an excellent custom job is not the same thing as a factory-manufactured TF toy.
