So I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and noticed that DOTM Deluxes are $16.99 while Generations Deluxes are the usual $9.99. Has anyone else noticed something similar?

Nope...think mine were more like $11.99/$9.99..or even the same price.

BTW, this should go in the toy discussion forum :)

The OP lives in Canada, so 16.99 is pretty much the regular price for our Wal-Mart (it's either this or 17.99, but yeah). The older deluxes must still be discounted (on rollback or clearance), while the movie stuff has been bumped back up to regular price.

Just go to TRU because deluxes are 6 bucks right now, and or print off [this coupon] & get them at Zellers fro 50% off. Their shit is gonna be like 20, but half of that is 10, so you still might be in good shape. There's also Save on Foods & XS Cargo that have deluxes on sale too, and between all of this + possible price matches at London Drugs & Superstore, you should be able to get anything you want for at least as cheap as US pricing right now (if not better for boxing week).

By the way, when a store orders deluxe toys, how much do they get them for. The price usually borders around 10, so I'm thinking maybe it is 10.

Well, it's often quite hard to break it down per unit, but large stores generally don't make a lot of money per figure sold. Instead, they make their way through volume, buying power, etc, and that's how they can get away with discounting shit like they do.

For target/WM its more like $6.50, smaller outfits like our wonderful online sellers likely about $8-9 each.

    (deluxes, that is)

All the stores down here (Seattle area) have DOTM at lower prices than Generations, which tend to be $12 or $13. Weird to see that Generations are cheaper elsewhere.
